Reason for the Season

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using traditional RED AND GREEN. For a card with traditional colors I went immediately to Reason for the Season. You think I did enough red and green?!  I have lots going on with this card.  Not only does it have embossing and designer paper, it has a special fold! Yep, it's an easel card so the recipient can show it off after you send it.  And it mails easily so you can WOW whomever you choose! Only two colors of ink were needed, Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.   A few pearls and the card is done.  The longest part of the process was fussy cutting the flowers, but they really didn't take much time at all! I added in a sentiment from Holly Jolly Greetings to prop up the front.  I love this set, the greetings can be used in so many ways! SUPPLIES: STAMPS:   Reason for the Season, Holly Jolly Greetings PAPER:  Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Merry Moments ...

Snowman in Red and White

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are starting to feature Christmas cards with today being all about RED AND WHITE. I went with a cute little snowman in a red and white striped scarf and hat. It's a clean and simple card that makes me smile just like the sweet snowman! I colored the hat and scarf with my Real Red marker and added a Pumpkin Pie nose.  For a bit of sparkle, I added Dazzling Details to the trim out the hat. In keeping with the red and white theme, the card base is Real Red and so is the base of the snow globe.  I stamped the outline of the globe in Sahara Sand so the snowman would be the main focus. The white layer is embossed with the fun Gently Falling EF to give dimension to the card.  I originally thought that I wouldn't buy this particular embossing folder, but I caved after seeing all the pretty cards that feature it! Golden Thank You

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring FALL CARDS using the 2014-2016 In Colors. I focused on Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a touch of gold. I love all the colors and textures, makes this card very warm and inviting! I did a simple sentiment from Thankful Forest Friends in Tip Top Taupe which coordinates nicely with Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey. I layered in the Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a bit of texture and washi tape for interest.  The finishing (and my favorite!) touch is the gold shimmer leaf.  I usually stamp the leaves then die cut them, this is my first plain old leaf!  But in gold, it really isn't plain! Supplies: Stamps: Thankful Forest Friends Paper: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tip Tip Taupe, Gold Shimmer Inks:   Tip Top Taupe Accessories:   Leaflets Framelits, Deco Labels Framelits, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Bohemian Washi Tape, Gold Sequin Trim If you need more holiday ideas, then you should check out th...

Colorful Lighthearted Leaf

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring FALL CARDS. I looked through all my stamps for fall and no matter how hard I tried to ignore it, LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES just kept calling my name! I know that I've done LOTS of cards with this set, but I have yet to color the leaves with MARKERS!  So today is the day for a very colorful leaf!  I love Bermuda Bay paired with Pumpkin Pie, so that was my starting point.  I also threw in Soft Suede and a little Pool Party.  The combination turned out stunning and is perfect for fall! The leaf was stamped in black then colored in with all the colors mentioned above.  I tried to make a bit of a pattern with the colors to bring the leaf to life. I went with a simple Soft Suede card base, no embossing or stamping on it.....it was hard but I refrained!  With this simple base, the focal point really shines. To balance out the bold leaf, I added in a Pumpkin Pie "grateful" and Bermuda Bay was...

Halloween Baker's Box

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!   This week we are all about HALLOWEEN TREATS! HOWL-O-WEEN TREAT is most definitely my favorite Halloween set this year.  I haven't taken this set of my desk since I got it!  For today's project, I used it to embellish a BAKER'S BOX. I used HAPPY HAUNTING Designer Series Paper to create the box.  I added a small square of Basic Black cardstock inside the box to reinforce the bottom..... I want to load this with tons of candy!! Lots of embellishments make this quite a treat indeed!  A spider web doily created the background for the spooky skull and bones.  A little silver glimmer paper added sparkle to complete the look.  Did you notice the little bit of Bermuda Bay that I snuck in??  I added a small starburst made with one of the thinlits in the BAKER'S BOX set.  I think Bermuda Bay looks gorgeous with Tangelo Twist and Basic Black....a perfect Halloween color combo! Here's a list of products used for...

A Spooky Season

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!   This week we are all about HALLOWEEN CARDS! SPARKLY SEASON was a set on my radar right away since it features more than one holiday.  I love sets like this that are multi-purpose!  It also comes as a bundle with the coordinating SEASONAL FRAME THINLITS which makes this a must have in my book! Is this jack-o-lantern cute or what!  I used the chevron circle and face from the stamp set and added in the "spooky" from the thinlits.  I LOVE having words to die cut....so fun to use! There are lots of little details that come together to make this card work.  Softly sponged stars with a decorative mask was my first step.  Then I layered on Happy Haunting washi tape before adding the jack-o-lantern and sentiment.  I even dressed up the hat that I pulled from Howl-o-ween Treat.  I love how it's a perfect fit! Here's a quick run down of all the supplies I used so you can make your own spooky card! Stamps :  Spar...
