Yee-Haw Take Two!

Image
How about another fun cowboy card today??  The sketch for Try Stampin' on Tuesday was just perfect for another take on the fun set Yee-haw.  But before I get ahead of myself, let's look at the sketch. Now I know this may not scream Yee-Haw to you, but here's what I saw.  The arrows would turn into barbed wire and the sentiment at the bottom was perfect for the lasso...can you see it with me?? How about I just show you the finished card and see if you love it like I do!  Is this fun or what?!  I kept with the same colors as the first Yee-Haw card I shared with you.  I love the bold look of Baked Brown Sugar with Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Wild Wasabi and Hello Honey. The card base has the oh so important barbed wire in place of the arrows and a center panel that acts like a tree with its wood grain embossing. A bold sentiment and a couple of little extras make this a rootin' tootin' fun card!  Speaking of fun, how about have a little fun stamping with me??  Grabs

Good Thoughts

Lately I've gotten into more clean and simple cards.  Today's was inspired by the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. This card is most certainly crisp and clean with Whisper White as the card base. The color inspiration came from my stash of washi tape.  The bottom layer is from Stacked with Love Washi in the Occasions Catalog, I love the stripes.  I also wanted to pull in a cheerful color, so the next layer is the Hello Honey washi tape from the Happiness Is Project Life Accessory Kit. With a clean card base comes a clean focal point.  The sentiment from Perfect Pennants is in Memento Tuxedo Black with a sweet little Hello Honey envelope below. Did you notice anything different about this card??  I restrained myself and didn't add one single sequin or rhinestone....can you believe it!!   The only extra splash of color came from the little Cherry Cobbler heart on the envelope.  Are you wondering where the envelope came from??  Well, it's in the super cute set

Card "Create"tions Saturday Blog Hop Week 3!!

Image
Welcome!!  We are in our final week of Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015 and it has been a blast! A big thank you to all of you that have followed us these three weeks!!  You should be arriving from Melissa's fabulous blog Rubberfunatics .  She never disappoints!!  As always, make sure to travel all the way around so you don't miss anything! My final card set was for the gorgeous Your Perfect Day.  To make it even better, I paired it with Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and the Artisan Embellishment Kit.  When I started planning for this blog hop, I considered many options.  As I've told you before, I love to re-use things and I keep all sorts of boxes and containers.  So, why not use the box for the Artisan Embellishment Kit as my favor. Isn't this cool!! My upline Patty Bennett was the first to think of this idea and I think she is a genius!  Once I had my box all prettied up with designer paper and embellishments, I had to decide what to put ins

A Perfect Day

Image
We are coming to a close for Card "Create"tions Celebrations from Create with Connie and Mary .  Today my last card set showcasing Your Perfect Day went live.  I can't share the exclusive cards with you, but I can share this one! Your Perfect Day is so elegant and has a lovely simplicity to it.  My favorite stamp is this beautiful cake.  It stands alone nicely on this card with a bit of designer paper and a sentiment. Pear Pizazz is a great accent color along with Blushing Bride.  They go hand in hand with this wedding style!  A couple of pearls and a small flower completes this elegant look. If you'd like to see the Your Perfect Day card set I designed for Card "Create"tions Celebrations, you can still subscribe!  Just because the collection has come to an end doesn't mean you can't enjoy it!  In fact, you will get to have access to the entire collection ALL AT ONCE!  Woo Hoo!!  For all the details go to Create with Connie and Mary. Crisp. Clean. Simple.

Image
Isn't it refreshing when you see a beautiful card that is very simple yet elegant?  I think so!  Since Create with Connie and Mary had a color challenge this week, I did a very clean design that I think you'll like.  But first, here's the colors. These colors are beautiful together and you could use them in so many ways.  I combined two floral sets Build a Bouquet and Regarding Dahlias with a splash of color from Work of Art. Minimal layering and lots of Whisper White really make the sentiment the focal point of the card.  Both dahlias are stamped off once with Soft Sky then added to the card.  The sentiment has a splash of Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi that are also stamped off to allow the Basic Gray sentiment to pop. And you know I had to add a bit of sparkle somehow!  A few rhinestones scattered about filled the bill! That's it for today!  Check back tomorrow for Your Perfect Day card!   Until then, Happy Stamping! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Golden Butterfly

Image
Inspiration can be found in all sorts of places.  Pinterest is of course my favorite, but Stampin' Up! gives us resources too....a great perk!  In the March /April Stampin' Success, I saw a GORGEOUS butterfly card, so I did my own thing with the idea.  Now, if I'd been using my thinking cap, I would have taken a picture of my card next to their idea, but I didn't so you'll have to bear with me!! The original is with the same colors, but it was a slender card.  I changed up my butterfly and the background details too. How about this gold butterfly.....GORGEOUS!!  I loved adding layers to give it more dimension.  So, the moral of the story is....LOOK AROUND YOU, INSPIRATION IS EVERYWHERE!!  Color combinations, embellishment ideas, you name it! Butterflies Thinlit Special Offer! The Butterflies Thinlits which have been on backorder for forever are now available again!  And since Stampin' Up! is SO AMAZING and realized that this has been very frustrating, they ha

Yee-Haw Birthday Buckaroo!

Image
Can you guess what I have for you today?? Yep, a super fun cowboy birthday card featuring Yee-Haw!  My inspiration came from the fabulous sketch that Mary Jo has for us this week. The banner on her sketch got me thinking about a wooden plank and a cowboy hat to hang on it.  So, I pulled out Yee-Haw and started stamping! Now I tell ya, what little cowboy wouldn't love this card for his birthday???  I know my little guy would.  I may have to do a cowboy party for Ben just so I can use this card...lol! I went with colors that I don't normally use, but they worked great with this design.  I wanted the sentiment to really stand out so I paired Marina Mist with Night of Navy and Hello Honey.  I really love the way the Night of Navy looks on the Marina Mist banner, it's so bold and gorgeous!  To make the unusual pattern, I pulled a stamp from a set that you  wouldn't necessarily think of for this style of card.  I used Build a Bouquet!  The large stamp was the perfect patter

How About a Simple Card Today??

Image
I did lots of shaker cards last week, some were more work than others.  I needed a break, so today I went with super clean and simple.  My inspiration?? Well, Freshly Made Sketches had a fabulous sketch, so I ran with it! Indescribable Gift is a gorgeous stamp set, one which has sat on my shelf waiting patiently to be used.  It turned out to be the best set for this card, I love how soft and pretty it is. Gorgeous don't you think!  It has a soft focus sort of look that I just love.  But I do have a confession to make........ I used my blendabilities to color this image.  I just had to, I bought this set with them in mind.  The clouds around the blossoms are my favorite little touch.  This was done easily with Soft Sky ink and a stampin' sponge.  Just die cut the cloud shaped word bubble and sponge around lightly for a beautiful cloudy sky. As far as the sentiment goes, I kept it super simple as well.  I wanted it to be small so the blossoms kept the main focus.   I searched th
