Picture Perfect

Welcome!  It's Thursday (already!) and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . This week is a color challenge, take a look. Now I have to admit that I had no idea what to do at first for this challenge...not a clue!  I sat down and just looked at my stamps to see what might look good with these colors and finally decided on this design. It's crisp and clean with a bit of boldness.  I just got Filmstrip and thought the cameras from Around the World would be perfect with it.  The card base is Basic Black with a layer of Summer Starfruit then Whisper White.  The filmstrip is stamped on the white with StazOn Black ink. Each film strip has a sentiment.  The first one, "Oh Snap"  is from Hip Notes.  The second is "picture perfect" from the Make Note This and That Rotary Stamp.  Both sentiments are done with Pistachio Pudding and die cut with Bitty Banner Framelits. The final elements are the cameras.  Each was stamped with Summer Starfruit and

Welcome!  Today I have a fun and simple card to share that I made for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  First, let me show you the sketch. I love how this card turned out, simple yet beautiful. The whole design for this card came from the tag in the center.  It comes from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  I love that the kit is great for cards as well as tags.  I went with the Calypso Coral tag since it coordinates well with the Sweet Sorbet DSP. The pieces of DSP are layered on a Soft Sky base with Soft Sky Seam Binding over top.  The tag has a sentiment from Perfect Pennants and is adhered with dimensionals over the ribbon.  And that's it!  A super easy and simple card that can be pulled together quickly.  Perfect for using up scraps of DSP or throwing together when you need a last minute card. I hope you'll join the challenge with me!  You can find all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Thanks for visiting

So Very Grateful for TSSC303

Happy Monday!  Another weekend gone in a flash, but today is the start of a new week and a new sketch challenge at Technostamper.  Mary Jo has a fun banner sketch for us this week, take a look. I used So Very Grateful for my card, I am really enjoying this set!  Here's what I came up with. I just love these flowers, so much fun to color.  For this card, the flowers coordinate with the Sweet Sorbet DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The card base is Sahara Sand with a layer of DSP.  Next are the banners.  Each piece of DSP is 1" x 3" with the banner ends made with the Hexagon Punch. Next element is the square, 3"x3" Basic Black with more DSP. The focal point is the flowers stamped with StazOn Black and die cut with a Circle Framelit.  I used blender pens and ink pads to color them.  I almost added a matting, but liked the way it looked by itself.  It is popped up with dimensionals to make it stand out. I hope you will join me for the challenge!  All the details

A Bright Life in the Forest

We've got a fabulous new sketch from Create with Connie and Mary for the Thursday Challenge this week.  It's a great design, you can really get creative or go simple. My card is inspired by this sketch as well as an outside source......my son's pj's!  I have a cute picture of him in dinosaur pj's that have the cutest color palette. This is such a great color combination, very bright and happy.  I have been planning to do a card with these colors and this week's Create with Connie and Mary sketch was just the right inspiration. Isn't this fun?!  I didn't use green in this card, just Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Smokey Slate. The card starts out with a Tempting Turquoise card base and a layer of Smokey Slate.  To go along with the sentiment, I stamped hearts from Hearts a Flutter all over the card stock with Smokey Slate Ink. Next came the two layers I needed to match the sketch.   A strip of Tempting Turquoise embossed with the Arrows EF was a per

It's Monday already!  The weekend went flying by even though we got a bunch of snow here in Ohio.  Since I was snowed in, I had lots of time to stamp cards.  One of which was for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  First, let me show you the great sketch Mary Jo has for us this week. I have been working on sympathy cards to sell at the bookstore and this sketch was perfect for that.  I used a combination of Sale-a-bration and Occasions products, take a look. I have to say that I love how this card turned out.  The Watercolor Wonder DSP is just so beautiful, it looks fabulous with anything! The card base is Island Indigo embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.  Watercolor Wonder DSP on the top of the card sets the colors for my stamped image. The focal point is from You're Lovely in the Sale-a-bration catalog and the sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  I stamped both with Black StazOn then die cut the image with the smallest Deco Label framelit.  I adhered the image to Gumball Gree

Thank You in Bold Colors

Wow!  It's Saturday and the last day of the Spring Collection 2014 from Create with Connie and Mary .  I can't believe how fast it went by!  I had such a wonderful time being on the Design Team, a big Thank You to Connie and Mary for letting me be a part of it!! So, on to the final Saturday Challenge.   We have a color challenge with Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Basic Black. My card is an abstract style Thank You that features So Very Grateful from the Occasions Catalog. The card base is Crushed Curry with a layer of Basic Black followed by a layer of Whisper White.  The first thing I added was the watercolor stamp from Happy Watercolor. Next I worked on the focal point.  The flowers were stamped with StazOn Black then die cut with an Apothecary Accent Framelit.  The flowers and leaves were colored using ink pads and blender pens.  The flower in the center is colored the darkest with Bermuda Bay.  The leaves have a light touch of Bermuda Bay as well.  The rest of the flowers
