I'm Here For You

Image
As you can probably tell by now, I like cards with a soft look to them.  I keep going back to a couple of stamp sets that I have that make the most beautiful soft looking cards.  One of my favorites is Blooming with Kindness.  I needed to make sympathy cards to sell in the bookstore, so I naturally went to this set.  I wanted simple and elegant, here's what I came up with. I love the look of Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzaz, soft and pretty!  The flower was stamped onto the Crumb Cake with Crumb Cake ink more than once to have variations of color.  The darker flowers I highlighted with white gel pen to make them pop.  I stamped off the flower before stamping it onto the white card stock, then the greeting was stamped in Soft Suede to make it stand out.  The Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding just adds the finishing touch for me.  The great thing about this card design is you can use it for any occasion and can change up the ribbon color.  I will probably do just that and share it will you later!

Something Green for LNS Challenge 212

Image
Today's card was actually a special request I had from a customer.  She got married last year on St. Patrick's Day so she wanted a special card to reflect that for her first anniversary.  It just so happens that this card fits in with the LNS Challenge for the week, Celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  I made a total of 3 cards for Laura to choose from, one I am sharing today and you will see the other two on Saturday.  Here is the card she picked. As soon as I finished this card, I knew it was the winner.  I liked the other two cards, but this one just stood out for me.  I used Old Olive as the card base, embossed with Lacy Brocade.  The doily was just something from my everything drawer that I've had forever, not the Stampin' Up! doilies from the Spring Catalog.  The ribbon is Pear Pizzaz seam binding that I got from the Clearance Rack a couple weeks ago, looked great with the Old Olive.  I stamped the scallop heart from the Hearts a Flutter Bundle and die cut it.  Th

Get Well

Image
This card seemed pretty appropriate for today's post, my whole family got a very unpleasant stomach virus over the weekend.  I made this get well card a little over a week ago. I've been seeing this idea floating around Pinterest and wanted to try it. I love the idea of putting a tissue on a get well card..how cute is that!  The base card stock is Crumb Cake with a Chocolate Chip layer.  The Certainly Celery layer is embossed with the Vine Street EF from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  For the pocket, I used a retired DSP that I cut into a square then just free cut a pocket bottom.  I made it a lacy pocket with Very Vanilla embossed with the lacy folder from Delicate Designs Folders.  I cut down a tissue and folded it then taped it to the pocket so it would stay in position, then I attached the pocket to the card.  The greeting from Perfectly Penned is stamped on Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink.  I added a matting of Chocolate Chip behind the Vanilla to make the greeting stand out

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge TSSC252

Image
Happy Monday! It's time for the Lunchtime Sketch Challenge again!  It's always fun to have a sketch to work with and this week's challenge was a good one.  Here's the sketch Mary Jo gave us. Here is the card I came up with. I went with mostly Sale-a-bration items, can't seem to put them down!  I started to make a flower for the center, then changed my mind and used the Pinwheel Sizzlet.  I layered the card with the Vine Street EF then added in the DSP from Sycamore Street that had the same vine look.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I originally had the pinwheel directly on the green layer, but it didn't stand out enough.  I die cut the smallest framelit from the windows collection and put it behind the pinwheel and popped it up on a dimensional.  Gave a little color boost and height.   Give the sketch challenge a try for yourself, just go to Technostamper and submit a card.  Here is a list of the other design team members for more inspiration. See it Again Saturday....On Sunday!

Image
Today's post was supposed to be yesterday's post...until I got a 24 hour stomach bug...UGH. :( Not a fun thing I can tell you.  But today I don't feel like a wet noodle so I am doing See it Again Saturday on Sunday.  The project I am re-sharing is the Two Tags Treat that I showed on Valentine's Day, click HERE to go back to the original. This concept is super cute, and super easy to use for any occasion.  I think this one is my favorite.  Pool Party CS embossed with clouds and the Pinwheel Sizzlet.  So fun and cheerful. Another cheerful treat using Sycamore Street DSP from Sale-a-bration.  This one features a fun heart rosette. I love this one for a baby shower.  Uses the Happy Whale Clearlits Die and Sycamore Street DSP.  I am really going to miss this DSP once it's gone!  I am going to use every last scrap!! Thanks for patiently waiting for See it Again Saturday!    My original post tells how I put these together, click HERE to go back and see. Have a great day!

Flashback Friday

Image
Welcome back to Flashback Friday!! This week I'm sharing a couple of fun birthday cards made with Clowning Around from the 2006 Summer Mini Catalog.  Here is the first version of the card. I made 2 versions of the card due the design of the DSP from Big Top Birthday.  The paper with the banners has more banners at the top of the paper, so there were less flags on some of the pieces I cut.  Check out version 2 to see the difference. On version 2 there was actually a nice cloud at the bottom that I used as a place to stamp the birthday greeting.  I used the happy birthday from Family Phrases. Version one I used a greeting from Circle of Friendship from 2006.  It wasn't too overwhelming on the card, and was able to be tucked in next to the clown. I love the cheerful colors of Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie.  The clown was colored in with markers and stamped.  I stamped an extra pair of pants that I cut out and put on the card with dimensionals, hard to tell on card

Birthday Card for LNS Challenge #211

Image
Today's card is for the LNS Challenge #211, all about birthdays.  I have really missed the chalkboard technique so I decided to go with that.  I did a banner and a simple birthday greeting for my card, super fun and super easy! I went with a pretty simple layout since the DSP was so bold.  I used the birthday greeting from Perfectly Penned with a chalk line around the edges to balance out the bright circus DSP that I got off the clearance rack .  I joined the banner pieces together with Cherry Cobber Bakers Twine and attached the banner to the card with dimensionals.  Bright, cheery and fun to put together, can't ask for better than that! Thanks so much for visiting! Tomorrow is Friday, so I'll be sharing a flashback card, be sure to come back! If it doesn't move...stamp it!!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! More Bloomin' Marvelous

Image
I have been drawn back to the beautiful set Bloomin' Marvelous yet again! Soft colors just go so well with this set.  I went with Crumb Cake and a retired favorite of mine Cameo Coral.  I wanted a card where I could have room to stamp the greeting and highlight it with paper piercing.  This turned out perfect, I did Happy Anniversary with a heart around it and a small flower to add dimension.  The Crumb Cake card stock embossed with Vine Street EF is wrapped with an old ribbon from years ago, Ivory 7/8" Organza.  All in all the card is soft and pretty, just what I wanted! Thanks for stopping by!  Tomorrow I will be featuring a card I am finishing for the LNS Challenge this week.  It's a birthday card done with chalkboard technique so be sure to come back! Blooming with Kindness Anniversary Card

Image
Today's share is an Anniversary card, I pulled out Blooming With Kindness again!  I was looking for a set that would go well with the colors I chose to work with, Pear Pizzaz, Peach Parfait, and Soft Suede.  Here's what I ended up with. The card base is embossed with Vintage Wallpaper EF.  I added a layer of Pear Pizzaz with matching seam binding that I got off the clearance rack .  The greeting has a stamped off flower in Peach Parfait with Happy Anniversary stamped in Soft Suede.  I added a bit of color to the sides with a scallop circle of Peach Parfait cut in half and adhered on the underside of the label die cut.  I added a couple of pearls under the greeting and that's it!!   Thanks for stopping by!  Check back tomorrow, not sure what I'm posting yet, so it will be a surprise! It's Monday!  Time for another Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!!  Here is a look at today's sketch that Mary Jo gave the team. Here is my card for the sketch. I made a card with lots and lots of embossing for this sketch.  I liked the soft colors of Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake for a wedding card.  The card base is Crumb Cake with a layer of Very Vanilla embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.  The Blushing Bride CS was die cut with the Top Note Bigz Die and embossed with Manhattan Flower EF.  The Crumb Cake rectangle under the greeting is embossed with Lacy Brocade EF too.  The greeting is from Word Play, stamped in Crumb Cake with a rhinestone jewel for the ring.  This was a really easy sketch to work with, I really enjoyed it!  You can join in too, just make a card using the sketch and go to Technostamper to post what you've done. Here is a list of the other team members so you can see what they made for the sketch this week. Mary Jo Price- Williams:  Technostamper Sue R
