Festival of Trees for CCC23

Image
Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I had a busy one, but I still have two cards to share with you today.  The first card is for the sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club. I kept true to the sketch and did a square card using the scallop square from the Square Framelits Collection. Isn't this a beautiful frosty card!  Pool Party is simply perfect for wintertime. The card base is embossed with the On Point embossing folder for a little texture.  A layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper adds a bit of sparkle along with a silver foil tree. I also added a little texture to the tree with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  The silver foil looks simply amazing with the snowflake embossed on it! A little bit of All is Calm Designer Paper is underneath the simple sentiment from Good Greetings. Final touch and splash of color is a sweet little red cardinal just above the sentiment. I really love how pretty this card is with Pool ...

Festival of Trees for CCC20

It's Monday and as usual I have two cards to share today.  The first card is for the sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club. I am all about Christmas, so my card features Festival of Trees and All is Calm Designer Series Paper. This card has a little bit of everything.  There's embossing, patterns, stamping and bling!  The Whisper White card base is embossed with On Point, I just love the little trees!  Next, several patterns of All is Calm paper bring color to the card and set up the focal point.  The tree is stamped on Whisper White with Pear Pizzaz and punched out.  It has a few sequins for ornaments and a simple sentiment below.  A couple of silver glimmer stars complete the design. This was a quick and fun card thanks to designer paper!  I hope it inspires you to create a card and join in the challenge!  You can find all the details plus more great samples at the Creative Challenge Club blog.  You can also visit the De...

White Christmas for CCC19

Image
Monday's here (already!) and as usual I have two cards to share.  This first post is for the Creative Challenge Club sketch. In keeping with the Christmas cards I've been working on the last few weeks, I made a card with White Christmas for the challenge. I just LOVE the sweet little polar bear in this set.   When I saw a bag of fake snow at the Dollar Tree, I bought it knowing I would make great shaker cards with this set. The frosty All is Calm Designer Paper is so beautiful with the white snow in the shaker.  Kind of makes you feel cold looking at it!  Per usual I used window sheet and dimensionals to construct the shaker.  The cut out for the scene is one of the Chalk Talk framelits, it fit perfectly. I added in a few other details to make the card extra special.  A couple of snowflakes with rhinestones on the shaker brighten up the focal point.  And of course I always add in stars and silver glimmer paper! I hope you are feeling inspired to j...

Four Feathers

Image
I have lots to share this week, starting with two challenges for today!  The first challenge is for the Creative Challenge Club.  We have a fun sketch for the week. I went with soft colors and Four Feathers, a break from Christmas cards today! I love this set, there is so much versatility!  This is a sympathy card with muted colors.  Inspiration came from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.  I wanted to keep the design crisp and clean with just a few colors and simple stamping. Before adding a strip of designer paper to the center, I stamped a couple of feathers in Smokey Slate to keep the muted look.  The focal point is made up of a couple of stamps.  The watercolor background is from For All Things, stamped in Soft Sky.  The sentiment is from Blooming with Kindness from the main catalog stamped with Lost Lagoon.  The feathers are stamped and die cut with the Four Feathers Bundle.  Two Pear Pizzaz feathers and one Lost Lagoon fea...

Happy Winter!

Image
Today I have a couple of cards to share.  The first is a winter themed card for the Creative Challenge Club sketch. When I looked at the sketch, I thought a snowflake or star would be great in place of the flower.  So I went with Wintertime and a frosty set of colors. I love Pool Party for winter cards, usually it's paired with another blue or silver.  Today I combined it with a color I haven't used in forever....Wisteria Wonder.  The cool colors look BEAUTIFUL together!  A little silver added in and this card is a real gem. The base is embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder to add texture to the open area of cardstock.   The focal point of the card is the Wintertime stamp.  To get the two colors at one time, I used markers instead of ink pads.  The largest Apothecary framelit fit beautifully with the stamp, it just needed trimmed down a bit to fit along the side of the card. A bit of silver was added in for contrast and sparkle....

Freaky Friends for CCC16

Image
It's Monday and I have two cards to share with you.  This first card is for the sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club .  Here's a look at the sketch. Since I have been heavy into Christmas cards, I decided to go with a Halloween card for today.  I used Freaky Friends, Ghoulish Greetings and Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper. I really love the Motley Monsters Designer Paper, it's just SO versatile!  I didn't do a ton of stamping on this card because the Designer Paper had already done the work for me !!  I used a bit of paper that had the cute little monster on the bottom with a cat and pumpkin.  I also added in a couple more pumpkins that I cut from another snippet of paper.   The card came together so quickly with all the layers of Designer Paper doing the work for me!  The only stamping I did was the sentiment.  I used Ghoulish Greetings stamp set to add a moon with Hello Honey cardstock, a circle punch and Staz On ink. I h...

Ho! Ho! Ho!

It's a new week and I have a couple of cards to share for Monday challenges.  The first challenge is from the Creative Challenge Club . I know this sketch has an acorn and a leaf, but I wanted to use Santa from Santa Stache. Isn't this a great Christmas version of today's sketch??  I just can't get enough of Santa Stache, this set is so fun to work with. Are you noticing all the stars??  I told you I LOVE the star products we have right now.  No matter how hard I try, I keep adding them to all my cards! This card has some great basic Christmas colors...Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Gold and Crumb Cake.  The Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack was the start of this card.  I knew that I wanted to contrast the Cherry Cobbler of Santa with Garden Green paper of some sort.  This particular star pattern was perfect, it's subtle which I like. Santa is colored with Blendabilities as usual. I kept him simple and didn't use much color on his beard this time....

Thankful for You

This week we have a color challenge at the Creative Challenge Club Blog .  It's a group of 5 colors: The challenge is to use a combination of a few or all of them....I went for all of them! What do you think??  Even with the addition of Pool Party I think this turned out to be a great fall card.  Banners are such a great tool for using colors and patterns on cards.  I ended up with 3 banners of varied sizes on this one.  Initially each banner was just plain cardstock, but it needed something more.  So, each banner ended up with some sort of stamping. I love the banners, but my favorite part of this card is the Autumn Wooden Element.  This great set of embellishments is perfect for fall cards and 3D items.  I used a solid leaf for this card, it's the perfect finishing touch.  The best part is being able to color it as I please!  I added Cajun Craze with a sponge and it took the color beautifully.  So, now all 5 colors are on this car...
