Birthday Blooms Meets Paper Pumpkin

Image
For the last birthday card for the Luv2Stamp Group (card #30 to be exact!), I needed a little inspiration!  So I looked to the March My Paper Pumpkin kit. Isn't this fun!  I started out with the card base that came with the kit...love the speckled look it has!  I stamped a couple the flowers from BIRTHDAY BLOOMS with Pool Party ink to create a soft background. For the sentiment, I used the supplies in the kit.  The floral paper is BEAUTIFUL!!  I added the "happy, happy" from the stamps in the kit plus "birthday" from CRAZY ABOUT YOU .  To make "birthday" stand out, I stamped it in Cucumber Crush. To finish off the card, I added a small flower using the ITTY BITTY ACCENTS PUNCH PACK .  The center of the flower has one of the green pearls from the kit.....love how it all coordinates!  And of course I stamped the envelope as usual....can't send it out with a plain envelope! Let me ask you something....are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber yet??  If you

Birthday Blooms for #GDP028

Happy Easter!  Today I have a really quick share for you.  I have one more card for this week's challenge from the Global Design Project.  I used my favorite stamp set BIRTHDAY BLOOMS. I had already made a card for the challenge using Picture Perfect, but I needed inspiration for a birthday card.  So this challenge was the perfect motivation for me!  I have made tons of cards with BIRTHDAY BLOOMS for the Luv2Stamp Group.  As I am nearing the end of my list of birthdays, I am seriously running out of ideas!  One look at the layout of this week's challenge and I knew exactly what I wanted to make! I used a similar layout and color palette.  But this time I used washi tape as one of my design elements. I love the bold black and white stripes with Calypso Coral!  I used alcohol markers to color the flowers then added a birthday sentiment. I just love how the coral pops with the bit of black and the soft Sahara Sand card base.  This turned out better than I expected...love when tha

Hello Spring

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is HELLO SPRING so we are featuring FLORAL projects! I have been all about cards lately.  So to switch things up a little, I made a BAKER'S BOX for you today! Doesn't this just scream spring!!  I almost made a Mini Treat Bag, but I thought the BAKER'S BOX was perfect for a grown up Easter gift that I need for Sunday. I wanted light and happy spring colors, so BIRTHDAY BOUQUET DSP was used for the box.  To keep the sentiment bold, I went with the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS .  The "celebrate" element hangs over the sides a little, but I like how that looks! I kept the flower monochromatic with a layering of Blushing Bride BOTANICAL BUILDER flowers.  I added several leaves as well in different colors to make the flower larger and bolder. Check the supply list below so you can make your own BOTANICAL BLOOMS BAKER'S BOX!! SUPPLIES: DIE CUTS:  Baker's Box Thinlits, Bot

Picture Perfect #GDP028

Image
I've been enjoying the inspiration over at the Global Design Project, so this week I did a card for the challenge #GDP028 . I went with a beachy feeling watercolor using PICTURE PERFECT .  I just love the starfish, so I used the layout from the challenge for my inspiration. This week the idea is to selectively edit and do a card with this design from Jessica Williams.  I chose to use a similar layout for mine. I pulled the striped Bermuda Bay paper from the March My Paper Pumpkin Kit.  It was the perfect bright color to contrast the Sahara Sand card base and softly water colored starfish. Over the starfish I added a bit of vellum cardstock with the sentiment stamped in black.  And to keep with the layout, I added a bit of thick white twine to the left side as a finishing touch. I loved this week's challenge so much, that I made a second card with a bit of a different take on the layout that I'll share next!  Bet you can't guess which stamp set I used (hint...you've

Man Up

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is MAN UP so we are featuring MASCULINE cards! Masculine cards are usually harder than flowery, girly cards.  So, I did spend a little extra time pondering today's card.  I had zero, yes I said ZERO ideas.  It happens to all of us at some point.  What do you do when you need a little spark of creativity??  I usually look to the catalog to re-visit the stamps and ideas that made me love them to begin with.  For today's card, the spark I needed came from looking through the main catalog and seeing the sentiments in PERFECT PENNANTS. "Sending Good Thoughts Your Way" made me think of the car in Beautiful Ride.  What a perfect sentiment to put with a car!  Then, I decided to change it up a little and cut out the middle and replaced it with "love". An unusual aspect to this card is the designer paper.  This striped pattern, from the Have a Cuppa DSP Stack, was the source of my

Have a Cuppa Thanks

Today I'm combining my favorite set BIRTHDAY BLOOMS with A NICE CUPPA for a shabby chic inspired Thank You card. My inspiration came from a new source, the Global Design Project.  This week's challenge #GDP027 was to create a Thank You card. As you know, BIRTHDAY BLOOMS is my favorite set right now so it was a no brainer to include it in my design.  But this time is took backstage to the tea cup from the CUPS & KETTLE FRAMELITS. Here you can see the lightly stamped Birthday Blooms flowers on the card base.  I added a doily then the tea cup so it would stand out more.  I went with the shabby chic theme that came from using the beautiful BIRTHDAY BOUQUET DSP .  Every time I look at the beautiful floral patterns in this set of paper I am reminded of my Grammy's house full of antiques and china. This card has definitely inspired me to do more with the A NICE CUPPA BUNDLE .  I think it just might be the next favorite of mine!   CLICK HERE to SHOP anytime and earn FR

Pink Birthday Blooms

Image
I'm back today with another birthday card to share with the BIRTHDAY BLOOMS stamp set.  This one is all about PINK! Yep, on this one I went a little crazy with the aqua painter!!  I really wanted to use the heart border somehow.  So I made a background of embossed hearts that I did a watercolor wash over. For the flower, I heat embossed it as well and washed the color over.  I fussy cut it and added it to the card.  When I originally added it and it didn't have anything underneath, it looked too plain.  So I added a bit of glimmer paper, silver thread and Pool Party Glitter Ribbon. And of course after all was said and done, I had to add in a few sequins!  I used the ones that came with the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT so I could have both big and little ones.  Lately this kit has been handy for other cards than it was intended! If you are looking for more spring ideas, how about giving the MARCH MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary a try??  We’ve got wonderful ideas

Easter Treats

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about EASTER TREATS! Last week I made a cute Playful Pals Easter card, so this week I made fun treats to give with it! Are these just too cute or what???!!!  I knew that getting the PLAYFUL PALS bundle was going to be worth it!  The little pyramid treat boxes are perfect for the bunny of course, but the carrot is just so fun I want to make tons of them to give away! Let's talk about the carrot first.  I used Tangelo Twist for the gorgeous orange color...perfect for a carrot!  I used the wavy stamp included with the Playful Pals set to add the wave pattern.  Gives the carrot a bit of realism, don't you think? BUT what about the fabulous carrot top!  That's where the Cherry on Top Cotton Paper comes in.  It's a thinner paper than the typical cardstock, so it rolls together without bunching.  I cut a 12 x 1 1/4" strip and cut all along the one side with FRINGE SCISSORS .  Then ju
