It's my favorite time of year, Sale-a-bration is here!  Along with Sale-a-bration is a brand new Occasions Catalog full of goodness!  One of the first sets in the new catalog to catch my eye was Flowering Desert .  I am a big fan of anything cactus so obviously this set appealed to me immediately!!  I have a couple of sample to share so today we'll start with this simple one. Lots of crisp, clean white lets the beautiful green cactus take center stage.  I used two very different shades of green to give each cactus it's own distinct look.  The tall cactus on the left is Shaded Spruce and the one on the right is Granny Apple Green .  Both of these colors are perfect for cactus! I added a bit of color with the cactus flowers and the sentiment.  Lovely Lipstick adds a brightness to the card that gives the finishing touch.  The die cut of "thanks" comes from a fantastic new bundle called Well Said .  This bundle is a MUST HAVE!  It has tons of sentiments and die cuts...

I created a Valentine for my husband with the new NAILED IT Bundle.  He is a general contractor, so this was just perfect! For my plus 1 color, I used Silver Foil paper on the saw.  The rest of the card is pretty clean and simple so the cut out saw would really stand out. Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is LOVE IS IN THE AIR. I went with the obvious choice and used LIFT ME UP for my card today.  It's a simple design which is my favorite lately! I thought about doing this on watercolor paper and adding a wash of blue for the sky, but instead I went with the WATERCOLOR WASH background stamp.  This is one of my favorite backgrounds ever made and it was perfect for this card. I added the sentiment in Dapper Denim, it's a nice complimentary color to Soft Sky.  The balloon was a combination of Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder.  The pink balloon stand out nicely against the blue sky and white clouds. Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is KID'S BIRTHDAY. My little guy is turning 4 soon so I did a fun little CUSTOM TEE card for his birthday. I love the simplicity of this card!  The sentiment was done with three coordinating shades of blue...Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Dapper Denim. The shirt itself is done with Marina Mist ink and cardstock.  I could have added more, but I think this clean and crisp design is perfect as it is.  Change up the sentiment and colors for just about any occasion! Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is IT'S A SALE-A-BRATION! It's time to Sale-a-brate, so we are sharing ideas with NEW Sale-a-bration sets!  I personally LOVE all of the sets, but the first one that was on my wish list was TASTY TRUCKS. Isn't this just too much fun!  I saw this cute truck and had to have it! The background is a bunch of tacos which were colored with watercolor pencils and a versa marker.  The truck is popped up on dimensionals on top along with a fun sombrero that I cut out of the Festive Birthday papers.  The truck is done with watercolor pencils as well.  I love how nicely they color!!!  They are a real must have from the NEW Occasions Catalog! Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is RING IN THE NEW. Hard to believe that 2016 is ending!  This year has flown by and been quite a whirlwind!  To welcome in 2017, I used IT'S A CELEBRATION from the Holiday Catalog. I added a pop of pink after being inspired by the POP OF PINK DSP and WASHI TAPE.  To bring in the pink I went with a Melon Mambo card base and added in a bit of embossing to add extra pizazz.  The sparkler is heat embossed in black then the "sparkle" is embossed over top in silver.  A couple of sequins from the FANCY FROST SEQUINS and a little WASHI TAPE and the card is all set! Another quick and easy Christmas card for today!  I'm using CHRISTMAS PINES again and featuring the PINE BOUGH EMBOSSING FOLDER with PRESENTS AND PINECONES DSP . While this is an easy card to make, it still is quite beautiful!  The embossed pine needles really make this card stand out.  I even added a little shimmer to them by using WINK OF STELLA. And the designer paper is a perfect match!  The small pinecones and pine branches are a compliment to the card design. My new goodies are in and I just had to sit down and try one of the stamp sets out!  I am a MAJOR fan of ice cream so getting COOL TREATS was a no brainer!
