Your Presents

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas GIFT CARD HOLDERS! I went with a fun and easy holder made from a TREAT BAG . The vellum polka dot bag is perfect for Christmas!  I just added a belly band and embellishments. First, score the bag 3" up from the bottom.  Fold the bag over and now you have two pockets!  I added a belly band in place of adhesive to the bag.  You want your gift card to fit in the pocket created by folding the bag over. I embellished the belly band with a fun gift using YOUR PRESENTS and the BOW BUILDER PUNCH .  Cucumber Crush was the perfect green to pair with Real Red for Christmas! The card insert for the holder was just as simple!  The Real Red was cut 4" x 4 1/2" to fit into the top of the bag.  I added a present to it as well.  I wanted the sentiment to be just as bold as the present, so I went with the "Merry Christmas" from MERRY EVERYTHING .  I also added in a little e...

Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holder

Image
Today I have a fun project to share with you for the Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Instead of a card this week, we are doing gift cards to get ready for the holidays. I have been wanting to try out the gift card holders that I've seen made with the envelope punch board, so that's what I've made for you today. I love how quick and easy this was to put together.  All it took was a piece of  5 1/2" x 5 1/2" All is Calm Designer Series Paper and a little embellishment.  Once the sides were scored on the envelope punch board, I adhered the bottom flaps and my gift card holder was ready. The pocket is embellished with the snowflakes from the Snowflake Flip Card Thinlet.  It adds a bit of sparkle to the front and covers up the folds so the holder looks neat and tidy.  The bottom snowflake was cut using the flip card thinlet.  You simple cut a square of paper to fit the snowflake and run it through one direction.   Then turn the p...

Flashback Friday: Halloween Treats

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! This week we are traveling back to 2006-2007 for a couple of cute Halloween sets.  I used both to make fun treats to hand out to the kids.  Here's the stamps first. This first set is Booglie Eyes from 2006.  I loved this set and used it a lot when I first got it.  It was definitely time to pull it off the shelf and make something new with it! The second set I used is called Trick or Treat from 2007.  I loved this one too, especially the greeting. Now here are the treats I made, turning the gift card holder into a treat holder. Aren't these fun!  Let me give you more details about each.  First I will show you more about  Frankie.  I made theses gift card holders and shared directions HERE .  I had a light bulb go off one day and decided to use the same design as a Halloween Treat.  The small packages of candies that are out fit perfectly in the center.  For these treats I used the packaged candy cor...

Halloween Treats

Image
Fall is quickly approaching so I have changed gears a bit and did a Halloween treat to share today.  I have shown a few gift card holders and a tutorial recently that gave me this idea.  As I was making them, I thought that a treat could easily take the place of a gift card.  And that's just what I did!  Take a look at my first Halloween treat of the season. Are you wondering where the Monster Munchies came from?  This is part of the new DSP called Witches Brew.  One of the designs is a bunch of words and phrases, so I cut out Monster Munchies as it was the perfect size and wording.  I made the gift card holder as I showed you in my recent tutorial.  But instead of a gift card, I added CANDY! The small packages of M&M's fit just right in the slot!  How cool is that?!  This would be such a cute treat to send to school with your kids or have as favors at a party.  The bottom part of the inside uses the bird from Toil & Trouble...

Blooming with Kindness gift Card Holder

Image
Hello!  I have another gift card holder to share.  This was actually the first one I made.  I used Blooming with Kindness and the same colors as before, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake. I love the simplicity of this one.  Just stamped the flower with Crumb Cake on Whisper White and die cut it with the Circle Framelits.  A little bit of DSP and ribbon completes the front. The inside is just as simple.   I stamped the flower again, this time with Blushing Bride and added a birthday greeting in Soft Suede. Did you notice the envelope in the background of the first picture?  I actually altered a larger envelope by cutting it down.  It was an envelope that fit a larger card, not our typical A2 card.  I sealed the envelope then cut it in half with my paper trimmer.  You can follow the tutorial to see how I add DSP to make a new flap.   Just click HERE to see that post. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Be sure to go to my ...
