Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week the theme is Love is in the Air....so we are featuring VALENTINES! I had so many favorites in the new Occasions Catalog that Valentine type sets took a backseat.  So....I made a Valentine with what I had and I think it's just super cute! Isn't this Valentine puppy so sweet!  I have always been a big fan of pink and chocolate so those colors jumped into my head right away! The puppy's "fur" is a design from the beautiful LOVE BLOSSOMS Designer Paper Stack on page 17.  It's intended to coordinate with the Bloomin' Love Bundle, but the paper is so beautiful it can be used with just about anything!  This particular design was simply perfect for my pink and chocolate puppy! I brought in pink with the sponged hearts created with a decorative mask.  They give a nice subtle background and a real Valentine feel to the card.  My biggest dilemma with not getting a Valentine set was what se...

I have one final card to share that I made for the Creative Crew this month on Splitcoaststampers.  This particular challenge required using any of the decorative masks on a card.  I love polka dots, so I went with a subtle background for my BEAUTIFUL RIDE card. Pool Party is such a serene and happy color for me.  I made a lightly sponged polka dot background to which I added a cute little VW Bug.  The bug was stamped on a scrap of paper, colored with Pool Party and a blender pen then cut out and added to the card base. For a fun pop of color, I added a Real Red balloon and a little bit of red to the dog's collar. Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  For the month of May, we will featuring techniques, starting with the very popular Bokeh effect. I personally LOVE this very popular technique, it's so fun to experiment with!  I actually did two cards to share since I was having such a blast playing around with different color combinations. Each card is soft and pretty but unique.  Let's take a closer look! Can I just say how much I love these colors together....perfect for a sweet baby!  On watercolor paper I combined Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding for a yummy look that reminds me of rainbow sherbert! Today's card is sunny and happy even though it's cloudy and rainy here in Ohio!  Remember when I said I'd do more with the Hooray It's Your Day Project Kit??  Well, today's the day!  My first couple of cards were for birthday's, so I went in a different direction for today. Can you tell that I'd like to see the sun a little more??  The bright Daffodil Delight just makes me smile!!  I love the rays of sunshine created with the AWESOME mask that comes in the kit.  The two exclusive decorative masks that come with this kit were the biggest selling point for me, you can use them for more than just the kit! This was my first try at spritzing, so I tried a couple of times on scrap paper before doing the one for my card.  I found that holding the spritzer further away gives you more control with how much color goes on the paper.  You can always add more color if it's too light, but you can't take it away...trust me!  To make this particular color,...

Hello stampers!!  It's Tuesday and I have a fun thank you card for the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday .  Here's a look at the sketch. I wanted to do something fun and different, so I pulled out my Decorative Masks and the Sale-a-bration set Simply Wonderful to put together this card. I wanted a whimsical card, so I used a polka dot theme created with a Stampin' Write Marker and the Polka Dot Decorative Mask. For my color palette I looked to designer series papers.  I liked the small polka dot design from the Park Lane DSP, it went well with the polka dot theme without being overwhelming. To match the paper, I used Calypso Coral as my card base with Blackberry Bliss as my accent color.  The polka dot background was easy to make, I placed the polka dot stencil over the cardstock and used my Calypso Coral Stampin' Write marker to draw a circle for each polka dot.  Once I had my circles, I went back and freehanded lines going different directi...

It's a new week and I have a couple of cards to share for Monday challenges.  The first challenge is from the Creative Challenge Club . I know this sketch has an acorn and a leaf, but I wanted to use Santa from Santa Stache. Isn't this a great Christmas version of today's sketch??  I just can't get enough of Santa Stache, this set is so fun to work with. Are you noticing all the stars??  I told you I LOVE the star products we have right now.  No matter how hard I try, I keep adding them to all my cards! This card has some great basic Christmas colors...Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Gold and Crumb Cake.  The Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack was the start of this card.  I knew that I wanted to contrast the Cherry Cobbler of Santa with Garden Green paper of some sort.  This particular star pattern was perfect, it's subtle which I like. Santa is colored with Blendabilities as usual. I kept him simple and didn't use much color on his beard this time....
