Beautiful Sunset with Waterfront

Image
I have found a new obsession....the amazing Waterfront stamp set.  I did lots of looking through Pinterest to see ideas before I gave this set a try.  I was a little intimidated since the set is so abstract.  But let me tell you, I just can't stop now that I've started stamping!  And yes, I have made some horrible looking things and pitched them, but I've also done some beautiful ones as well. This one started out with the Ohio sunset as inspiration.  At night lately I've been noticing the sky has tones of lavender and pink right before the sun goes down.  So I looked to my Stampin' Up! colors and pulled out Wisteria Wonder, Fresh Fig and Powder Pink to try to re-create what I've seen. The left side is a layered with my pinks and purples moving in on the blue sky on the right done in Pool Party.  I took an aqua painter to soften the lines and mellow things out.  Then added the sunset in Pumpkin Pie and the hills in Smokey Slate. I went through my stamps to look

Barn Door Meets Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Image
The Barn Door Bundle has some wonderful greetings as you saw in last week's post.  But sometimes I like to mix things up add in different stamp sets.  In today's card I used sentiments and flowers from the beautiful stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous . What a fun birthday card to give!  It has a both sentiments on the front of the card so the inside has plenty of room for writing a note. This card was actually inspired by the February My Paper Pumpkin .  If you look closely, you can see the card base and the card front are from the kit.  I loved the subtle striped design plus it was easy!  The pieces were ready to go! I hope you give this idea a try and do a little mixing and matching with your stamp sets...including My Paper Pumpkin ! March is the 5 year anniversary for My Paper Pumpkin !  If you haven't given the monthly program a try yet, what's holding you up!!!  You get a ready to go kit each month that lets you craft without planning or thinking....all the work is

Barn Door Fun!

If you haven't tried out the BARN DOOR BUNDLE yet you are missing out!  I got this bundle right away then sadly let it sit on the shelf until yesterday.  Oh my goodness......I had so much fun trying out different ways to put together cards with this AMAZING sliding barn door!  Today's example is pretty much what you've been seeing, but I did do something a little different.  Let's take a look! Can you tell what I did that is different??  It's pretty subtle but I love the look.  I stamped the door on Whisper White with Memento Ink and colored it with blendies to give a more rustic look. With a closer look you can see the variances in color that make the door look more authentic!  It does require more effort, but well worth the time!   When the door slides across the magic happens and the second greeting is revealed!! So if you have been like me and left this bundle sitting on the shelf, stop waiting!!! I promise you will enjoy every minute with this bundle! A coupl
