Barn Door Fun!

Image
If you haven't tried out the BARN DOOR BUNDLE yet you are missing out!  I got this bundle right away then sadly let it sit on the shelf until yesterday.  Oh my goodness......I had so much fun trying out different ways to put together cards with this AMAZING sliding barn door!  Today's example is pretty much what you've been seeing, but I did do something a little different.  Let's take a look! Can you tell what I did that is different??  It's pretty subtle but I love the look.  I stamped the door on Whisper White with Memento Ink and colored it with blendies to give a more rustic look. With a closer look you can see the variances in color that make the door look more authentic!  It does require more effort, but well worth the time!   When the door slides across the magic happens and the second greeting is revealed!! So if you have been like me and left this bundle sitting on the shelf, stop waiting!!! I promise you will enjoy every minute with this bundle! A coupl...

Dragonfly Dreams for CCMC454

Image
There are several bundles from the Occasions Catalog that I have yet to work with.  So for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge , I pulled out the DRAGONFLY DREAMS Bundle for my card.  But before I get too far ahead, let's take a look at the colors we are featuring this week. Beautiful combination, don't you think??  I wanted a soft watercolor look to go with DRAGONFLY DREAMS so I paired it up with products from the April My Paper Pumpkin. I used the card base and one of the watercolor papers from the kit.  Everything else was from my regular stash of products. The water coloring shows off all three of our colors this week.  I used my aqua painter and ink pads to create the look.  I also added color to the rest of the background, a little bit of Island Indigo.  I used that same color for the dragonfly die cuts and added a bit of Wink of Stella to each to make them sparkle. The inside of the card had to be embellished as well.  The stamps from the kit alon...

Color Fusers Blog Hop: February 2017

Image
Welcome to the February 2017 Color Fusers Blog Hop!  Each month we work with a group of colors to bring you inspiration.  Check out the fabulous colors we have to work with this month. We only have to use three of the colors, but I love the challenge of using all four!  I was able to pull it off using the fun COOL TREATS bundle from the Occasions Catalog.   It ended up being quite easy to incorporate all the colors with this stamp set.  It all started with the Peekaboo Peach paper from the TASTY TREATS Specialty DSP .  It provided a wonderful background to work with. Lots of details went into the rest of the card.  A fun sundae was placed in a set of circles and surrounded by the sentiment.  I love how the sentiment circles around the focal point.  It's a unique way to do a greeting for sure!  I had originally placed the words in a zig zag pattern but really loved it when I thought to put it along the top and bottom. I hope you've enjoyed this COOL TREATS idea!  It was so muc...

Love is in the Air

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is LOVE IS IN THE AIR. I went with the obvious choice and used LIFT ME UP for my card today.  It's a simple design which is my favorite lately! I thought about doing this on watercolor paper and adding a wash of blue for the sky, but instead I went with the WATERCOLOR WASH background stamp.  This is one of my favorite backgrounds ever made and it was perfect for this card. I added the sentiment in Dapper Denim, it's a nice complimentary color to Soft Sky.  The balloon was a combination of Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder.  The pink balloon stand out nicely against the blue sky and white clouds. SUPPLIES: STAMPS:  Lift Me Up, Watercolor Wash Background INKS:  Soft Sky, Dapper Denim, Watermelon Wonder PAPER:  Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo ACCESSORIES:    Up & Away Thinlits, Stampin’ Trimmer, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, dimensionals, SNAIL The February Mini Session is on it's way!...

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLORS. I went with my favorite bokeh technique to create a beautiful sparkly card with SANTA'S SLEIGH. The softness of the Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White craft ink create a lovely background for the sparkly silver glimmer reindeer. I added a punch of color with a Tempting Turquoise wreath and the sentiment embossed in black.  The sentiment was actually taken from CHRISTMAS PINES.  I liked the font and the size of the sentiment complimented the reindeer. If you’d like to make your own bokeh reindeer card, check out the supply list below. Sparkly Reindeer

I've gone clean and simple today with the beautiful SANTA'S SLEIGH BUNDLE . I love white on white for the card base and top layer.  The gold glimmer reindeer really stands out and sparkles this way!  I added embossing for more interest and dimension.  The PINE BOUGH Embossing Folder is just perfect for a clean and simple look in white. Adding in a sentiment with EMERALD ENVY gives just a hint of color and really pops on this card.  This has been my color of choice so far for Christmas, I just love it! And speaking of possibilities, have you thought about all that can be done with the gorgeous stamps in the Holiday Catalog but feel overwhelmed??  Well, I have a solution for you!  The NOVEMBER MINI SESSION from CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY gives you 5 FULL TUTORIALS using new stamps so all the work is done for you!!!!
