Colors of Halloween

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is the COLORS OF HALLOWEEN. You may have noticed that I enjoy making Halloween cards and treats so this month will be so much fun!!  I actually pulled out an idea from Mary's playbook and did a slender card with hang overs. I just LOVE this year's Halloween sets, they are so great together!  COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN plus SPOOKY FUN equals a really cool card!! I combined classic colors of Halloween with the super cute skeleton.  Did I mention how EASY this was to make??  The COOKIE CUTTER stamp sets have a coordinating COOKIE CUTTER BUILDER PUNCH .  Love it when tools can make my crafting experience easier!  I simply stamped the skeleton and punched him out.  I stamped a bow tie then punched it out....simple as that!  The HALLOWEEN NIGHT DSP gave the card lots of color and pattern and the skeleton made a great focal point.  Only a small portion of stamping was involved and the card was c

Not Your Normal Fall Card

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is NOT YOUR NORMAL FALL CARD. I wanted to do a crazy shape, but I don't really have any die cuts that I thought would work out well.  So I went with a square spinner card featuring ACORNY THANK YOU . Spinner cards are so easy now with the awesome new SLIDING STAR FRAMELITS . This set of framelits coordinates with the SHOOTING STAR stamp set, but it's not just for that!  I've shown you today that you can use the spinning die cuts for anything! The card base is 4 1/4" x 8" in Soft Suede folded in half to give enough room for the spinner.  I popped up the top layer with the FOAM ADHESIVE STRIPS (a serious must have!) and used washers for the spinner. I created a copper topped acorn with the ACORN BUILDER PUNCH and embossed the sentiment in copper to coordinate.  Love copper for fall!! I hope you've enjoyed my spinning acorn, the supplies are listed below if you'd like

Fall is in the Air

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is FALL IS IN THE AIR. For my fall card, I went back to the Annual Catalog and combined an older set with a newer set. Isn't it great when you can use a stamp set for multiple holidays! I kept it simple and used Crushed Curry with Cajun Craze to create a fall inspired wreath with WONDROUS WREATH and BANNERS FOR YOU .  I almost added in Pumpkin Pie, but decided against it in the end.  I did use Soft Suede as my third color for the card base and banner outline to give a little more depth to the card. To give a little more of a fall feel to the card, I added in LINEN THREAD to make a bow and hang the wreath.  This last little touch was just what the card needed! Below is the supply list and color inspiration so you can create your own fall inspired card. Spooky Fun Watercolor

Image
Remember the Galaxy Watercolor Technique that I shared awhile back??  Well, I gave this same technique a try for a spooky Halloween night scene. I layered color onto watercolor paper to give a dark spooky night for my SPOOKY FUN Halloween card.  The picture doesn't do the background justice, there are little bits of yellow and green showing through in areas to give this card a unique look. Most of the card consists of die cuts from the SPOOKY FUN BUNDLE.  I went with Night of Navy as my main color to do something a little different since I am always featuring black for this type of card. Tomorrow I'll show you how to do the background and see if I can come up with some better pictures to show how beautiful the watercolor looks. In the meantime, did you know that the September Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary is LIVE now??  We have done all the hard work for you!  Just sit down and create with our FULL TUTORIALS!  You get 5 each session and right now we are featur
