Retiring Product Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Retiring Product Blog Hop today!  It's an exciting time of year when the Retiring List comes out.  We have to say goodbye to current favorites but we also get to look forward to new ones.  If you've been following all the way through the hop, you have just come from Lisa Rhine's blog .  I have to say that I love everything Lisa does !   She has wonderful bold and beautiful cards. For my card today, I used one of my favorite sets, Secret Garden.  When it first came out, I didn't get super excited about it.  But once I got the stamps in hand and made my first card, I couldn't stop using them! For today, I did a card with a Scallop Tag Topper Punch closure.  Using this unique closure is a wonderful way to take your card to the next level.  This is a Mother's Day card so I used soft spring colors. All of the flowers are embossed in white and colored with a blender pen and ink pads.  I used Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight a...

Secret Garden Treat

Image
We are at the end of Week One of the Card "Create"tions Collection from Create with Connie and Mary , I hope you have joined us!  On Saturdays, we share a fun favor that everyone sees, not just subscribers.  Since my card set this week was Secret Garden, I have a small treat to share using that stamp set. Isn't this fun!  I used my Envelope Punch Board to make this cute little treat.  It's simple to make, you just need a piece of DSP 5" x 5" and you punch and score at 2 1/2" on all four sides.  This particular DSP is an Old Olive design from the Brights DSP Paper Stack. For the front of the treat, I added flowers and leaves from Secret Garden.  The greeting from Six-Sided Sampler is stamped on Whisper White and die cut with a banner from the Label Flip Card Thinlet.  The back of the treat has a closure that can be used over and over.  I simply added a piece of DSP punched with the Modern Label Punch.  Just add adhesive on each end only so the...

Card "Create"tions Blog Hop!

Image
Welcome to today's special BLOG HOP with the Design Team for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Collection.  I am super excited to be a part of the team, this is such a talented group of ladies.  If you are following the loop, you should be coming from Melissa Davie's blog , she is such an amazing artist!  I always get inspired to create when I see her work! For my card, I decided to go big and try something new.  So, I made a card in a box since I have seen so many cute ideas floating around.  I have to say, this is such a FUN design!  I know I will be doing more of these, they are really fun to create. Isn't this a fun, bright card!  I love the color combo of Pear Pizzaz, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.  They are the perfect colors for a floral Mother's Day card. Here's a look from the top, you can see the greeting better from this angle.  I wanted the card to fold flat and fit into an envelope, so I attached the greet...

It's Monday and time for a new Monday Lunchtime Challenge at Technostamper .  Mary Jo is running this challenge for two weeks since she'll be out of town and unable to post a new challenge next Monday.  Bonus is she is offering blog candy,  so be sure to stop over at her blog to get entered! Here's the sketch. This sketch has many possibilities, I ended up going the floral route using Secret Garden. I kept the card soft and simple.  The card base is Soft Sky and the accent color is Baked Brown Sugar.  I kept the colors I stamped with the same.  I collage stamped on the Whisper White then added a die cut flower and leaves to put at the bottom.  The sentiment is from Express Yourself, stamped in Baked Brown Sugar below the collage.  It was nice working with a simple card design, this card I made would be beautiful in any color scheme and the greeting could be anything as well.  Thanks for stopping by! You can see cards made by the other membe...

A Floral Card for CCMC259

We have a great sketch this week for the Thursday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  I thought this was a great layout and was excited to work with it.  I haven't been doing cards that are horizontal like this, so I used the same sketch with my usual vertical layout. Secret Garden has been seriously neglected lately, so I pulled it out for this card.  Here's the details. 1.  Card base is Crumb Cake embossed with Mosaic Madness EF. 2.  Cut a border with Pistachio Pudding using the Adorning Accents Edgelit in      the scallop pattern.  Added paper piercing to the scallop border with the      template from the Essentials Pack. 3.  Die cut a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a framelit from Apothecary      Accents.  The piece was cut in half and paper pierced with the template     from the Essentials Pack. 4.  The flowers from Secret Garden were stamped with Coastal Cabana and ...
