Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is RING IN THE NEW. Hard to believe that 2016 is ending!  This year has flown by and been quite a whirlwind!  To welcome in 2017, I used IT'S A CELEBRATION from the Holiday Catalog. I added a pop of pink after being inspired by the POP OF PINK DSP and WASHI TAPE.  To bring in the pink I went with a Melon Mambo card base and added in a bit of embossing to add extra pizazz.  The sparkler is heat embossed in black then the "sparkle" is embossed over top in silver.  A couple of sequins from the FANCY FROST SEQUINS and a little WASHI TAPE and the card is all set! Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is ALL THAT GLITTERS. I went with a very unusual card for this one, I wanted to be totally different!  Check it out........ Not your usual Christmas card, right??  Well, I was in the mood to make a movement card so I thought about how I could incorporate the slider card dies into my card.  PEACE ON EARTH was the answer!  The earth in the SHOOTING STAR fit the bill. The card base was done in black so the silver foil paper would really stand out.  I added in silver glimmer paper and silver embossing as well.  There is even shimmer on the earth that was added with the clear WINK OF STELLA. Another quick and easy Christmas card for today!  I'm using CHRISTMAS PINES again and featuring the PINE BOUGH EMBOSSING FOLDER with PRESENTS AND PINECONES DSP . While this is an easy card to make, it still is quite beautiful!  The embossed pine needles really make this card stand out.  I even added a little shimmer to them by using WINK OF STELLA. And the designer paper is a perfect match!  The small pinecones and pine branches are a compliment to the card design. I used the framelits that coordinate with SANTA'S SLEIGH to create a golden sled as the centerpiece of my card. Isn't this sweet!!!!  It's one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets coming up in January.  I just had to break out the truck stamp and use it for today.  Too cute for words for sure!!!  I stamped the truck on Shimmery White cardstock and colored it in with an aqua painter and ink pads.  I liked the colors coming out a little softer this way instead of the darker color from using markers. I also added in the fun new DSP from the Occasions catalog called TASTY TREATS.  Lots of fun designs to play with and all of them are done in simply beautiful colors! My new goodies are in and I just had to sit down and try one of the stamp sets out!  I am a MAJOR fan of ice cream so getting COOL TREATS was a no brainer! I needed a quick little birthday gift card so this was simply perfect!  The coordinating die cuts made putting together this ice cream cone WAY. TOO. FUN! I can see hundreds of combos for ice cream cones, sundaes and popsicles! With the holidays fast approaching, I have been looking for ways to make simple yet beautiful cards.  Today I let the Designer Series Paper do all the work. I didn't originally intend for the card to be so simple, but I loved the look of this sentiment stamped on the designer paper. I die cut pine needles and pine cones then even pulled out sequins, but it all seemed to be over done.  I tried out each item with the card and it just didn't fit.  Goes to show that sometimes just some simple stamping and beautiful paper is enough!  This would be a great design to mass produce if you needed cards at the last minute. Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is INSPIRED BY A CHRISTMAS SONG. One of the first songs to pop into my mind was "Let is Snow" since it's a favorite of mine. To mimic snow in a different way, I used the silver polka dots designer acetate.  Love silver at this time of year....it's so joyful and festive! To keep the silver theme going, I added a silver glimmer reindeer.  He's very majestic, don't you think!! I also went with a bold sentiment and heat embossed "Let it Snow" in white on Basic Black cardstock since it's the song that inspired all of this.  And of course since I love sequins, I had to add in a few of the Fancy Frost sequins.  They were the perfect finishing touch!!
