A Beautiful Butterfly for CCMC347

Hi Stampers!  Today I've got a butterfly card to share using the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Here's a look at their sketch for this week. I had a couple of extra butterflies cut with the Butterfly Thinlets sitting on my desk, so I picked a Calypso Coral one and designed today's card around it. This card came together so easily, I basically pulled things off my desk that were leftovers.  The card base is Calypso Coral to which I added a layer of Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper.  I wanted to the butterfly to stand out, so I kept the sentiment simple and stamped it on the bottom of the card.  I used Calypso Coral ink to stamp a sweet yet simple sentiment from Simply Wonderful in the Sale-a-bration catalog. There was a circle of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper in my pile of extras so I added it to the card.  It fit the sketch and helped to highlight the butterfly.  The butterfly was added with Tombow, I find that it's the bes...

Thank You for TSOT#210

Hello stampers!!  It's Tuesday and I have a fun thank you card for the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday .  Here's a look at the sketch. I wanted to do something fun and different, so I pulled out my Decorative Masks and the Sale-a-bration set Simply Wonderful to put together this card. To match the paper, I used Calypso Coral as my card base with Blackberry Bliss as my accent color.  The polka dot background was easy to make, I placed the polka dot stencil over the cardstock and used my Calypso Coral Stampin' Write marker to draw a circle for each polka dot.  Once I had my circles, I went back and freehanded lines going different directi...

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge !  Let's take a look at the great sketch Mary Jo has for us this week. I wanted to use a set that I haven't tried out yet, so I pulled out the Sale-a-bration set Simply Wonderful. I must admit, I struggled a little with the design of this card.  I knew what I wanted to put in the half circle, but the rest was up in the air.  I went to the fun Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper for color inspiration then just went with it! I picked this fun pattern, love all the colors!  From there the card started to really come together.  I used a sentiment from Simply Wonderful then added more of the colors with the butterflies from Butterfly Basics.  The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack from Sale-a-bration....love this pack of goodies!  The last thing I ended up doing was adding speckles from Gorgeous Grunge on the So Saffron card base, it was looking too plain and needed a little someth...
