Stars and Snowflakes!

Image
I have another great Christmas card to share today.  This one is for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. Ok...this looks like a really simple sketch, but I had to think about this one for awhile.  Should I use washi tape or ribbon?  Should I just stamp the design??  After pondering for a bit, I decided to go with lots of stamping. I was a little unsure as I made this card, but I love the way it turned out!!  Since I have been neglecting the older In Colors, I went with Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  I love these two colors together, they look great on this Christmas card. The sentiment is a combination of the "Merry" from Cheerful Tags and "christmas" from Endless Wishes.  I love how they look stamped in rows to fit the sketch.  To fill up the rest of the card, I stamped small snowflakes along the top and bottom and added stars to the center.  I love the look of the silver glimmer stars, I think they are my favorite part of the card! I hope you will join i

Ho! Ho! Ho!

It's a new week and I have a couple of cards to share for Monday challenges.  The first challenge is from the Creative Challenge Club . I know this sketch has an acorn and a leaf, but I wanted to use Santa from Santa Stache. Isn't this a great Christmas version of today's sketch??  I just can't get enough of Santa Stache, this set is so fun to work with. Are you noticing all the stars??  I told you I LOVE the star products we have right now.  No matter how hard I try, I keep adding them to all my cards! This card has some great basic Christmas colors...Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Gold and Crumb Cake.  The Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack was the start of this card.  I knew that I wanted to contrast the Cherry Cobbler of Santa with Garden Green paper of some sort.  This particular star pattern was perfect, it's subtle which I like. Santa is colored with Blendabilities as usual. I kept him simple and didn't use much color on his beard this time.  A gold glimme

Boo!

It's Thursday and Create with Connie and Mary have a fun color challenge just perfect for this time of year!  This week we are working with some great Halloween colors. I just got My Paper Pumpkin for September in the mail at the beginning of the week, so I used it for today's card. I haven't done a banner card in awhile, so I thought it would be fun for a Halloween card.  I kept it pretty simple using minimal stamping.  On a Basic Black card base, I added a Tangerine Tango Banner with "Boo" from Paper Pumpkin stamped twice.  To add a bit of color, 4 banners from Motley Monsters Designer Paper were added to the sides.  Each strip of designer paper is 3/4" wide then cut down to have the lengths vary.  I added a little flip to the ends with a bone folder for dimension. The card still needed a little something, so I added several bats from Freaky Friends.  Two hold up the banners and one more in between the sentiments.  I think this turned out to be a fun Hallo

Thank You Fall!

Welcome!  Today I have another fall card to share, it's for the sketch challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Isn't this a great sketch?!!  I have been doing fall cards this week, so I used the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper that I had out for inspiration. I'm happy with how this card turned out.   I love all the colors, especially the strip of Basic Gray in the background. The design in the center was so simple to create!  I used three of the circle punches and three different designs of Motley Monsters paper.  The sentiment from Something to Say was stamped on Crushed Curry then die cut with the smallest Banner Framelit.  I tucked it in under a  circle, it was the perfect fit!  The last element, my favorite element, is the leaf.  The Autumn Wooden Elements are such a great addition to cards!  I sponged it with Cajun Craze then used a couple of mini glue dots to add it to the card. I hope you are feeling inspired and want to join the challenge with me!  Just go

Football Dear Heart!

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!  Mary Jo always has awesome sketches for us.  Here's today's. I have been doing lots of Christmas cards lately and decided to change it up for this challenge.  I went back to a really cute set, Dear Heart. With the start of fall and football season, I thought this was the perfect card for today.  My little guy is loving the beautiful weather and having a blast playing ball outside.  So when I saw this sketch, I immediately saw three footballs for the circles. I kept the colors muted except for the bright leaves and sentiment.  The designer paper I used was Motley Monsters, it has some great patterns that have nothing to do with Halloween! The footballs were so fun to do, they are stamped on Cajun Craze with Early Espresso Ink.  Don't they look real?!  The little football player turned out great too.  I love coloring with the Blendabilities, they blend and color so well!  The flesh tones were always a proble
