A Christmas Card for CCMC279

Image
Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends.  Today I have a challenge card to share, there is a new sketch at Create with Connie and Mary. I have been on a roll with Christmas cards, so I did another one!  This one features Festive Flurry and A Banner Christmas. I used Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush as my colors.  The Strawberry Slush just pops against the Coastal Cabana...love it!  The DSP is from the Brights Collection DSP pack and there is a strip of Silver Glimmer paper on the left side.  I added bling of course, Frosted Finishes Embellishment and Rhinestone gems. This was a really fun sketch to work with, I hope you will join along!  You can find all the details and more samples from the Design Team at Create with Connie and Mary .  Thanks for visiting today! Christmas Treats

Image
It's been awhile since I have share a 3D item, so today I have a fun Christmas treat to show you. I saw this idea on Do Stamping with Dawn, she has some really great treats!  This was originally a Halloween treat that she shared and did a video for.  You can see the video HERE .  When I saw it I immediately thought of Christmas.  I made two designs since they are super easy to put together. The first one features the Chalk Talk Bundle.  The tag looks beautiful against the striped paper from the Season of Style DSP Pack.  Here is it opened up.  Dawn used Chiclets, I went with snack size Kit Kats.  For the second design, I used Endless Wishes.  I am so glad I ordered this set when I did, it's sold out now!  I stamped the medium snowflake and believe it or not, I die cut it using one of the Festive Flurry framelits!!  Isn't that the coolest!  It was soooo much faster than fussy cutting and it looks nice and crisp! I hope you liked my Christmas treats!  They would be a great gi

Festive Flurry for TSSC290

Image
Wow, Monday is here already!  That sure was a quick weekend!  Today we have a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper, take a look. I have been really enjoying Festive Flurry lately, my new go to set for this time of year.  Today I used it for the challenge with Coastal Cabana as the main color. When I first saw the sketch, I could see a snowflake as the focal point.  I think this one turned out beautiful.  I made it layered with a little bit of silver embossing and bling to bring it to life. I also did layering on the card itself using Coastal Cabana and paper from the Winter Frost DSP Pack.  I love the bit of silver in the snowflake design of the paper that I used for the stripe on the left side of the card base.  I played off that by adding a bit of Silver Glimmer paper, the silver embossed snowflake and the Frosted Finishes embellishment. This was such a great challenge, I hope you will join me!  You can see cards made by other members of the design

A Grunge Card for CCMC278

Image
It's Thursday already, this week is flying by!  There is a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we are using the colors Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand. I don't have much in the way of fall stamps, so I went with the grunge look for my card. The card base is Sahara Sand with Gorgeous Grunge stamped in Sahara Sand and Always Artichoke. I cut a piece of Always Artichoke card stock to look like a polaroid picture.  The center was cut out to show the Sahara Sand underneath.  I stamped "hey there friend" from the My Paper Pumpkin starter kit inside the polaroid.  To add in the Tangerine, I put a few Candy Dots on the card.  The "you made my day" came from A Dozen Thoughts and was stamped in Tangerine Tango.  That's the basics for my grunge card for today. I hope you will join the challenge with me.  You can find all the details and more samples from the Design Team at Create with Connie and Mary .  Thanks for visiting to

Festive Flurry for Try Stampin' On Tuesday #145

Image
I have a fun and Sparkly Festive Flurry card to share with you today.  I made it for this week's challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  Here is a look at the sketch. Since Christmas is only a hop, skip and jump away I went with a snowflake card.  Festive Flurry is so much fun to work with so naturally it was my choice. I started out with a design of paper from the Winter Frost DSP Pack, but something wasn't right.  I happened to have a bit of Bermuda Bay paper out from the Bright DSP Stack and it just looked amazing on the card.   I was just about ready to scrap my original design too!  The design is pretty simple.  I used Glimmer Paper for the border on the left side of the DSP and for the smaller of the two snowflakes.  The larger snowflake is die cut from Bermuda bay, I layered the shimmery snowflake on top of it.  I added in a few rhinestone gems for added sparkle, the card stock looked too blank to me.  The final part of the design was the greeting.  I went with Endles

A Fun Thank You for TSSC289

Image
It's Monday and time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper. I wanted to use this sketch for a Thank you card and I wanted it to be fun.  Here's what I ended up making. I didn't decide on my colors right away, they evolved with the card.  I knew I wanted to use the polka dot paper from Birthday Basics DSP, so I used coordinating colors.  The card base is Bermuda Bay with Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green and Basic Gray used as accent colors.  This is definitely a color palette that I don't use very often!  The greetings are from Endless Wishes and A Dozen Thoughts.  The stars and thnx die cuts are from the Circle Flip Card Thinlet set.  It's a really fun and bright card for sure!  I hope you will step out of your comfort zone too and join the challenge with me! Color Me Christmas for CCMC277

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a sketch, a square one for a change up. I haven't done a square card in quite awhile, so this was a fun challenge!  I went with a smaller size square, 4 1/4".    Color me Christmas was the first set to jump into my head, here's what I came up with. I have been into making Christmas cards, so I figured I'd just replace the flower in the sketch with a cute little reindeer!  Here are all the details. 1.  Cut Gumball Green cards stock 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" to make my 4 1/4" square card. 2.  Cut Real Red card stock 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" then embossed it with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  Added it to my card with SNAIL. 3.  Cut a 3/4" x 3 3/4" strip of polka dot paper from the Season of Style DSP pack. Added it to the card next to the Real Red card stock. 4.  Stamped the reindeer on Whissper White card stock with StazOn Black ink.  Colored him i

Tutorial: Double Embossing

Image
Today I have the tutorial to share that goes with the tag box I did a week or so ago.   I made another little treat box using the paper I made for the tutorial, this time with a Christmas theme. Double embossing is a great way to add depth and elegance to a project.  It's an easy process too.  I usually make a bunch at one time to have for projects at a later date. SUPPLIES: Embossing Folder Big Shot Brayer Embossing Buddy Embossing Powder  (I used clear for this tutorial) Vera Mark or Embossing Ink Pad Card stock cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Make sure you cover the entire paper well so all areas will emboss evenly.  I set up four papers then emboss and repeat the process if I need more.  Be careful when handling the paper so you don't disturb the placement of the powder. I hope you will give this great technique a try.  Especially for Christmas projects, the Real Red card stock with Clear embossing powder is so beautiful! Thanks so much for stopping by.  Please feel free t

Flashback Friday: Cowboy Christmas

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!  This week we are flashing back to 2000 for the super cute Christmas set called Cowboy Christmas. I have to admit that I bought this set because I loved it, but this is the first time I have used it! I didn't want the card to be too busy, the cowboy should stand out.  But I wanted to use as many of the fun stamps as possible, so here's what I did. 1.  Used Real Red for my card base to have a Christmas color for the card. 2.  Added a layer of Crumb Cake.  Stamped the cows and the cactus with Crumb Cake for a tone on tone look. 3.  Stamped the cowboy onto Glossy card stock with StazOn Black.  Colored him in with a blender pen and stamp pads.  Die cut the image using the Deco Label Framelits. 4.  Die cut a Gumball Green layer using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I put it under the left side of the Deco Framelit to add a splash of green.  Trimmed of the right side of the white Deco label to line up with the edge of the Crumb Cake layer. 5.  P

Endless Wishes for CCMC276

Image
It's Thursday already, this week is just flying by!  There is a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge using Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Smokey Slate. I made a Christmas card using the new Photopolymer set Endless Wishes.  I like using both traditional and non-traditional colors together. Aren't these snowflakes beautiful?!  I originally bought this set because of the versatility of the greetings, but the snowflakes are amazing too!  Here's the details. 1.  Used Coastal Cabana as the card base.  Added a layer of Smokey Slate as a matting for the Whisper White. 2.  The Whisper White layer is stamped with two of the snowflakes.  The larger snowflake is in Coastal Cabana and the medium snowflake is Smokey Slate.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of all the snowflakes to make them pop. 3.  The greeting is stamped in two parts with Smokey Slate and Real Red.  I punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch.  I layered

Endless Wishes for Try Stampin Sketch #143

Image
Today I have a snowflake card to share that I made for Sketch Challenge #143 at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  Here's a look at the sketch. The theme is vintage, so I decided to go with the Season of Style DSP pack for this card.  I really don't have anything super vintage looking, so I did more of a classic look. I love the colors of this card. Here's the details. 1.  Used Cherry Cobbler as my card base.  Stamped the large snowflake from Endless Wishes with Cherry Cobbler ink on the left side of the paper. 2.  Added a strip of Season of Style DSP.  I chose the chevron stripes since the sketch had stripes. 3.  Stamped my greeting from Endless Wishes with Cherry Cobbler ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  I die cut it with the banner from the Circle Flip Card Thinlet set.  I added it to the card with dimensionals and added a couple of pearls to each end of the banner. 4.  Lastly, I added two small snowflakes stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White.  They were punched with the

Snow Day for TSSC287

Image
It's Monday and time for a new sketch challenge from Technostamper! I used Snow Day for this challenge, such a cute snowman!  This set has been sitting patiently on my shelf, waiting for it's turn.  You will definitely be seeing more of this fun little guy! I like the color combo of Real Red, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky.  The bit of red just pops against the paleness of the Soft Sky and Crumb Cake.  Here's the nitty gritty of how I put this card together. 1.  Used Crumb Cake for the card base.  Added a layer of Soft Sky embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. 2.  Added a layer of Whisper White 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. 3.  Another layer of color, Real Red embossed with Stylish Stripes. 4.  The snowman was stamped with Craft White Ink on Crumb Cake and die cut with a Circle Framelit.  The arms and face were stamped with Chocolate Chip.  The scarf was stamped with Real Red.  The nose is a bit of Pumpkin Pie card s
