Wow!  Thursday came around fast again this week!  My little guy had a blast on his birthday Tuesday and loved the Calling All Heroes card that I shared that day.  Today I have a card to share for the color challenge this week from Create with Connie and Mary .  Let's look at the colors first. I love this combination, the bright colors with the grey, not something I use a lot. One of the things I have been wanting to try is water coloring with the decorative masks.  So, I decided to make a simple and fun card with Basic Grey polka dots in the background.  I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and a layer of Basic Grey cardstock as a very thin matting for the watercolor paper. The first element I added to the watercolor paper was the polka dots.  I used my aqua painter and Basic Grey ink pad with a decorative mask.  I varied the intensity of the color to give more of a watercolor feel.  Once the polka dots were in place, I used Tangelo Twist to add stars all over the paper.  I use

A Super 5th Birthday

Today I have a special card to share.  It's my son's birthday card made with Calling All Heroes.  He turns 5 today and is all about super heroes, so this was perfect for his card this year. I've got to tell ya....this set is soooooo much fun to play with!!  It took me a long time (about 2 hours) to make this because I kept changing my mind!  I have to say, the dots are VERY hard to get lined up but the effort was worth it!  I got the idea for this card from the awesome Jan Tink, you can see her card HERE .  I changed up my design but used her card as a guide. I can't wait to see what Ben thinks of his card tonight!  I'll keep you posted :)  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy stamping! Dear Heart for TSSC325

I'm back with more today!  This time I am sharing a card made with Dear Heart and Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  First, let's look at the sketch. I think Dear Heart is just the cutest set ever and I wanted to make it work for this sketch.  I moved my focal point over a little, but I love the way this card turned out! I love the little scuba boy and this design of Moonlight paper is just perfect as the waves!  I used the stars decorative mask to make the first design element, I just did tone on tone with Soft Sky.  I added the designer series paper next, it's cut 3 1/4" x 4 1/2". For the boy, I stamped him on Whisper White using Memento Ink.  I colored him with blendabilites.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Coastal Cabana, and Skin tones.  I also used the Color Lifter, especially on the goggles to tone down the blue.  I used the Circle Framelits to die cut the boy and add him to the card with dimensionals. Next, is the sentim

Watercolor for CCC06

Happy Monday!  I have a card to share today for the color challenge this week at the Creative Challenge Club Blog.   Here's the colors we are working with. I have been seeing lots of beautiful watercolor cards lately, so I decided to do one of my own. I used the hostess set Bloom with Hope, it's just so beautiful!  I tried this a few ways before going with the one you see.  I ended up doing black embossing for the sentiment and flowers.  I embossed both on watercolor paper before adding any color.  For the color, I used my aqua painter and ink pads. I did the flowers with Crushed Curry and the background is Bermuda Bay. It was fun going out of my usual style to try something else, I hope you will do the same!  Join our color challenge and try out something new on your card.  Just go to the Creative Challenge Club Blog for all the details and to see more fabulous card samples! Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!

It's Thursday so I've got a card to share for the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Here's a look at the sketch for this week. Isn't this fun!  I have been dying to try out the new Dear Heart photopolymer set and this sketch was perfect for it. I love the sweet little faces in this set, especially since I have two little boys to make cards for!   I had a card base already embossed from a previous project and so this card just came together from what was in front of me. I stamped the background images tone on tone.  The little dinosaur is in Old Olive and the baseball is Pumpkin Pie.   The Pumpkin Pie cardstock was cut freehand to match the shape from the sketch.  I just adhered it to the strip of Old Olive. For the sentiment, I pieced together two stamps.  I stamped "happy birthday" from Something to Say on Whisper White.  Next, I stamped "sweet boy" with Pumpkin Pie.  This is where photopolymer is so awesome, I had a super easy ti

All Abloom Thank You

I have a really happy Thank You card to share today for the sketch challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  First, let's check out the sketch. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the large open space in the center, so I went with Designer Series Paper.  The majority of the card is from All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack.  That's what makes this card so happy and EASY!  I love putting together cards that are quick but beautiful, especially when time is short. I think this particular design is just soooo gorgeous!  I started with a Strawberry Slush card base and added in the two strips of designer paper first.  I used the back side of this floral design, they look amazing together!  The sentiment also has the yellow paper as it's matting.  I used the "Thank You" from Four You, I think it goes with this paper so well!  The last little design touch is a bit of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine.  With the thick twine there, I had to use dimensionals
