Lighthearted Leaves Shaker

Image
Guess what....I'm back with another SHAKER!  Yep, I am officially obsessed!  I have really been into fall cards and was pondering a way to make a cool shaker.  LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES is a new favorite of mine, so I thought about it and came up with this! A rustic shaker!!  The idea for this kind of shaker came when I found some cool fall colored sequins at the Dollar Tree.  Of course I grabbed them up in every color and went home a happy girl! If you'll look closely, the shaker is shaped perfectly as a leaf so you see all the sequins.  I did a similar card with the butterfly framelits, you can find more about it HERE .  You can also see a close up of the embossing and sponging that really brings home the rustic feel of the card. I went with the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS for my sentiment, it was the perfect fit for this monochromatic card.  I wasn't sold on these wooden elements at first, but now I love them!  In fact, there are more coming up in the Holiday Catalog that I...

Happy Scenes Shaker + Tutorial!

Image
As you know, I am obsessed with SHAKERS!  There's just something about sequins that makes me happy!  So of course I was thinking of possible shaker cards as I looked through the upcoming Holiday Catalog, and there is a set just perfect.....Happy Scenes. What a cool window scene!!!  I used a spider web design from the Happy Haunting Designer Paper, is it perfect or what?! The window is a perfect shaker over the spider webs.  I added silver and black sequins plus a few Silver Glimmer paper stars punched with the Confetti Star Border Punch.  I also added a few Black Glimmer paper stars as well to the card front.  Just wait until you see the Black Glimmer paper in person, it's AWESOME! Shakers are so much fun, have you tried one yet?  If you are not quite sure how to make one or need some inspiration, I have created a tutorial to explain it all! Learn how to make 4 different styles of shaker cards with my easy to follow step by step picture tutorial.   A page of tips and tricks is ...

One of my favorite new In Color Products is the awesome ENVELOPE PAPER.  It's got a great feel to it and works beautifully with the MINI TREAT BAG THINLET. Of course I had to make this bag a bit different.  I made it into a card with a fun little vellum shaker on the front. The shaker is a simple pocket made with vellum and the very cute Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape.  I kept the sentiment simple so the shaker could shine. Isn't this such a fun way to tell someon...

Ok, how about one more shaker card??  I figured we might as well squeeze one more in this week!!  Today's combines a couple of great stamp sets to create a fun shaker for graduation. What graduate wouldn't love this bold shaker???  Even better is the awesome message inside from Adventure Awaits.  I have been working with Adventure Awaits a lot over the past week or so, it's the card set I created for Week Two of Card "Create"tions Celebrations for Create with Connie and Mary (it went live today!).  I love the bold larger than life greetings.  This one in particular is perfect for graduation cards or scrapbooking. The shaker portion is formed the same as the card on Wednesday with vellum and washi tape.  The sentiment in the center is from Blue Ribbon on page 136 of the main catalog.  I layered the sentiment with a bold Basic Black starburst and added the congratulations tails.   A couple of Silver Foil stars make the card complete.
