Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop: Pop Out Swing Fold

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Bog Hop!!  All during June we are featuring different FUN FOLD CARDS and this week is the POP OUT SWING CARD!

I was so excited about today's card, I have been wanting to try this type of fun fold for awhile now.  It took me a little bit to figure out what I wanted to do, but I think you'll like the end result.



 I combined my obsession with shaker cards and this fun fold style to create a fabulous birthday card anyone would love!



This fun fold is so easy to create!!!  It really takes no time at all, just a couple of extras steps with a regular size card front.  I went with the fun new set You're So Sweet on page 57 of the new Annual Catalog.  It coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet, but you can do lots more with it!



I started out with the sentiment stamped with Watermelon Wonder on Whisper White.  The Square Framelits were used to create the opening and the cut the cardstock for the shaker.  I used the third and fourth framelits from the outside.  I'm not going to go into great detail right now, but if you like this card and want to know more , leave a comment and I will consider doing a video if enough people are interested!  UPDATE:  There have been soooo many wonderful comments and I super appreciate it!! My shaker contains gold sequins, Crushed Curry stars with the Confetti Star Punch, and Watermelon Wonder cherries punched with the Cupcake Builder Punch.



When you pull the shaker, more magic happens and the card pops open!  I added a birthday greeting from Age Awareness plus a sweet little cupcake with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The Cherry on Top Designer paper provided the fun candy pattern paper that I paired with Crushed Curry.



As always I made the envelope coordinate with the card with a cute little punched cupcake in the lower left corner.....always have to match!!!

    Really a cute card. The colors are great and the idea of combing the fun fold and shaker card styles together was so clever. I hope you decide to do a video as it was a wonderful card.

    Hi! I'm curious about this cute card. Does the left hand side of the white (inside) panel attach to the card base or does it "swing free"? I see that the front image panel is attached to the inside panel, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Flashback Friday: Travel Time

Welcome to another Flashback Friday!!  Today we travel back to 2003 for the fun stamp set called Travel Time.  I thought this was an appropriate set for this week.  It is Stampin' Up!'s convention this week so a lot of demonstrators are traveling.  Here's what the set looks like. I made a CAS card (clean and simple) with this set.  I have been doing more of the clean look lately, it brings this set a more modern look. The card is very simple, Whisper White card stock and neutral inks.  Here's the details: 1.  Card base is Whisper White.  I stamped the map and suitcase in Crumb Cake .  Stamped the sentiments in Basic Gray. 2.  Stamped the card on Glossy White card stock (boy do I wish this paper was not retired) with StazOn Black ink.  Color was added with markers and blender pen.  I fussy cut the car and added it to the card with dimensionals. Party Animal

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all featuring ANIMALS. I almost used the Playful Pals Bundle, but the fun new set BALLOON BUILDERS was calling my name! Isn't this balloon elephant too cute!!  I knew from the start that this little guy needed a string for his balloon.  Let's take a closer look. The thin silver thread was just perfect for the balloon string!  It took a couple tries to get the bow tied, but it was worth the effort! I kept the card pretty simple overall with a pretty design from the gorgeous BIRTHDAY BOUQUET paper in the background.  The elephant was stamped on Whisper White then I cut out the trunk before die cutting the rest with a circle framelit.  I had in mind that he was kind of floating in a balloon himself on the card! Peachy Keen Jellybean!

I used to love to say "Peachy Keen Jellybean" when I was younger so when I first saw the new Occasions catalog I smiled!  The Peachy Keen stamp set is right up my alley!!  I haven't had the chance to use the bundle much so I pulled it out for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge. This sketch is perfect for the Peachy Keen stamps and Gorgeous Grunge. Putting together a fun yet fast card is always a good thing!  I had this card complete in 15 minutes flat...and that's with a fussy baby hanging out next to me in his stroller! The card base is Tangerine Tango with a simple layer of Whisper White. The right side has Gorgeous Grunge stamped with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't want to over do it and make the card too busy, I wanted the greeting to stand out.
