Raindrops Keep Falling

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we have a really fun theme, RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD. Another fun theme for this month and another technique to share!  I used watercolor paper again but in a different way. Aren't the rain drops fun!  They were created by sponging ink onto the watercolor paper then sprinkling water over top to remove some color.  It's another great way to get more out of your products! In this close up you can see the how the drops of water pulled the ink back off the paper.  Just take your aqua painter or any paint brush and tap it over your paper with a little water.  Then just use a paper towel to pull away the ink. I kept the card simple to really show off the raindrops.  All I added was the sentiment and clouds from SPRINKLES OF LIFE .  Several silver foil paper raindrops over top added a bit of extra sparkle.  Can you see the shimmer on the clouds?  I used Glimmer paper and embossed in silver to ma...

I haven't used SPRINKLES OF LIFE in awhile so when the opportunity to use it knocked, I answered! Now, take a look at the Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday Sketch Challenge and you'll see why this was the perfect set for today! This challenge was simply made for SPRINKLES OF LIFE !!  I was more than happy to pull out this favorite of mine and in no time had a card knocked out! Cherry on Top Designer Paper got the ball rolling, all the colors were base on the pattern I used. I just love the combination of hearts, ice cream and polka dots!!  I also added in a sentiment from All Boxed Up , it went so well with this design! If you're not too hungry for ice cream now, why not join the challenge with me!  Grab your stamps and inks and check out the information for this challenge at Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday. Rainbow Shadowbox for Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Bog Hop!!  All during June we are featuring different FUN FOLD CARDS and this week is the SHADOWBOX CARD!   You should be arriving from Mary Brown's amazing blog Stamper Camper's Corner , wasn't her card fabulous!!  If you are just starting out here, welcome and enjoy the ride!  Be sure to stop at each blog to check out all of the cool cards we have for you today. I used to do tons of this style card, I love how easy they are to make and they have a nice WOW factor to them.  I actually envisioned this card when I saw OVER THE RAINBOW in the new catalog.  I knew that the word "RAINBOW" would be just perfect for a shadowbox, what do you think?? Perfect rainbow, right??!!  The stamp has just the right curve to fit over an oval framelit! One of the coolest things about this shadowbox is that it folds flat and fits into an envelope easy peasy!  The card is built from two pieces of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card...

Over the Rainbow

Image
With all the rainy weather lately in Ohio, I needed a bit of a pick-me-up!  To the rescue was the FUN new stamp set OVER THE RAINBOW. This is one of those whimsical sets that you just can't help but smile about!  What inspired this happy design for today??  None other than the unique sketch at Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday. Isn't this a fun way to inspire creativity!  You can pick the photo or the sketch...or both!  I don't have anything beachy, so I used the sketch to bring my happy rainbow to life. As you can see, I did some serious paper piecing!  It took a bit of fussy cutting, but it was totally worth it! Clouds from Sprinkles of Life were a nice compliment and fit just right with a rainbow.  They were an easy addition, the coordinating punch meant no more fussy cutting for this card! Alright, now it's up to you to turn a little inspiration into a gorgeous card.  Why not give this week's sketch a try with me??  Just hop on over to Try Stampin' to ge...

Tree of Friendship

Image
I have lots of awesome new stamps from the annual catalog, but I keep coming back to one of the first ones I got ..... Sprinkles of Life. I went with this set yet again because it was perfect for the sketch I'm using today.  Check out Mary Jo's sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. The sketch may have a flower, but I saw a tree with clouds behind it.  Bright colors paired with soft brought my idea to life. Cucumber Crush made a great card base with texture from the Woodgrain embossing folder.  Pool Party clouds added softness and balanced the card out nicely. I love having a coordinating punch to make assembly easy!  The tree is stamped then punched, even the sweet little flowers. Speaking of flowers, how about a row along the inside??  Makes for a happy card in my book!  I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party then wished I had used Cucumber Crush for a bolder look.  But it's still a happy card so I'm happy! Now it's up to you!  How abo...

How About More Sprinkles?

Image
I am anxiously awaiting my new stamps and can't wait to show them off to you soon!!!  In the meantime, how about a few more sprinkles??  I can't say enough good things about this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  Stampin' Up! really did a great job with Sprinkles of Life and it's for such a great cause.  I hope that all of my fun cards with cupcakes and ice cream persuade you to buy this set and matching punch to support RMHC!  OK...enough talk, let's look at today's card with lots of sprinkles! Isn't this fun!!!  Not only do the scoops of ice cream have sprinkles, but this pattern of paper from the Cherry on Top stack kinda looks like them too!  I got the inspiration for this card from the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' - or not - on Tuesday. I varied my card from the design a little.  I flipped the sketch to be upright them pictured the circles as an ice cream cone with three scoops!!  That's what's so fun about...
