Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 - Part 1
I picked a stamp set you may not have thought of for this set of colors.
LIVE, LOVE, GROW is a favorite of mine! I just love the sweet succulents and sentiments. I know you would typically think of this set being in neutrals and greens, but I love the idea of throwing in a Sweet Sugarplum succulent along with the Mint Macaron plants.
To make this a beautiful but functional card, I added a birthday greeting inside along with a couple more succulents.
Let's delve into the nitty gritty and talk about how all the colors from the challenge were used. Obviously I love SWEET SUGARPLUM, I used it for the card base and one of the succulent plants. It's a great light purple that reminds me of the old Pale Plum that Stampin' Up! had years ago when I first started stamping. MINT MACARON comes into play with the other plants. This pale green is such a lovely color and is a great stand out against the plum. I added in the other two colors as accents. FLIRTY FLAMINGO is used only with the ribbon for the inside card and the die cut "love" in my sentiment. It works really well with the card and really adds that little bit of contrast that was needed. Lastly, RICH RAZZLEBERRY was used with the small flowers on the largest plant. I used the TREE BUILDER PUNCH to get the tiny flower that would work with the size plants in my terrarium.
The inside is embellished a little with the lovely plants and a fun birthday greeting that is a combination of SUNSHINE SAYINGS and LIVE,LOVE,GROW.
If you haven't tried these MINI TREAT BAG cards, I highly encourage you to! They are a bit smaller than a typical card so even though they are more 3D, they still fit into the Stampin' Up! envelopes. It's a great way to step up you card making for the WOW factor.
