Swing on a Star
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week we have a really fun theme, SWING ON A STAR.

All of our projects will have something to do with stars. I actually have 2 cards to share today featuring the SHOOTING STAR BUNDLE! I has so much fun with this technique that I had to make more than one!

Now you can see why one wasn't enough! I has way too much fun with this technique that I learned from Wendy Cranford. I had to change up the last bit of the process a little to use only Stampin' Up! and it worked beautifully!

This first card features the slider die cut where the star can shoot across the sky. The galaxy watercolor technique makes the background so realistic! I used watercolor paper (can you believe this was a pure white piece of paper!) and added LOTS of color! The star was also done on watercolor paper so the colors would blend and look as beautiful as the galaxy background.

Knowing full well that one card would not be enough, I made a WHOLE PAGE of this background! Yep I just did a whole page that I could cut up into the sizes I needed. A much more efficient way to go about making this type of card. For this second card, I went with the spinner die cut and sent the world round and round!

So now I would love to know what you think! Do you love this technique as much as I do?? Would you like a tutorial?? Please leave me a comment with your opinion, I'd love to know what you think :) ****I added a tutorial, thank you for all the comments! Click HERE.

ReplyDeleteStunning cards Nicole!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are wonderful and I love the background! A tutorial would be great. :)
ReplyDeleteThe cards are great! I have this set and have been playing around with the background. I would love to learn the galaxy watercolor technique.
ReplyDeleteThese cards are the best use of the stamp set and dies I've seen yet. I love the background. And I'd LOVE to learn the technique for the background! I've seen a tutorial for the Northern Lights tech, but not this sky tech. It really makes the globe and star appear to be in outer space.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn the technique. I follow you but seldom leave messages. Thanks for the good fun.
ReplyDeletePlease don't tease us with this technique and then not share how to do it!! Of course I'd like to know how you did it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!! Would love to learn how to create the galaxy background.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What a gorgeous background that is! I'd love to know how to create this beautiful effect!

ReplyDeleteTFS! Would love a tutorial on this.
Amazing! Love how you did the background. I would love to share this on my blog for 'My Crafty Friends Monday' (a round up of amazing cards from amazing stampers!)! Please let me know if you would prefer that I didn't share it (of course I give you credit and link back to your blog!).
ReplyDelete[…] I just love the galaxy watercolor technique Nicole Tugrul used on her fun cards. You can get the details on her blog. […]
