Shine

For my Dad's birthday, I decided to do a card that was unique.  Guess what came to mind?  SUNBURST SAYINGS.  This bundle is just too much fun and there are many, many ways to use it.  I showed you a masculine card with the SUNBURST THINLIT on Sunday where I cut the rays into a circle.  This time I'm cutting it down in a different way.

Isn't this a fun card!  I love the sentiments in this set, they are great for many occasions.


Sunburst Sayings

There's lots of shine going on for sure!  I heat embossed gold splotches on the white cardstock using GORGEOUS GRUNGE and the spots from SUNBURST SAYINGS.  I love the speckled look behind the gold glimmer sunburst...it really takes it to the next level!

Sunburst Sayings becreativewithnicoleI toned down the bling a little by using Basic Black as my accent color.  The black keeps the gold from being overwhelming...I think I reached a good balance!  I did have to add in some sequins (couldn't help it!) and embossed the envelope as well.  It all coordinates beautifully!  I wish I had taken a picture of the inside before I sent the card out, I added embossing there as well.

How about some bright and shiny news??  The NEW CATALOG PRE-ORDER has started! (A great perk to being a demonstrator!) I ordered mine yesterday and can't wait until it's delivered TOMORROW!!  Yep, I splurged on 2nd day shipping so I can get my hot little hands on the goodies ASAP!  I need to get creating right away, the May CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY MINI SESSION will be all about the NEW PRODUCTS!!

Flashback Friday: Travel Time

Welcome to another Flashback Friday!!  Today we travel back to 2003 for the fun stamp set called Travel Time.  I thought this was an appropriate set for this week.  It is Stampin' Up!'s convention this week so a lot of demonstrators are traveling.  Here's what the set looks like. I made a CAS card (clean and simple) with this set.  I have been doing more of the clean look lately, it brings this set a more modern look. The card is very simple, Whisper White card stock and neutral inks.  Here's the details: 1.  Card base is Whisper White.  I stamped the map and suitcase in Crumb Cake .  Stamped the sentiments in Basic Gray. 2.  Stamped the card on Glossy White card stock (boy do I wish this paper was not retired) with StazOn Black ink.  Color was added with markers and blender pen.  I fussy cut the car and added it to the card with dimensionals. Party Animal

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all featuring ANIMALS. I almost used the Playful Pals Bundle, but the fun new set BALLOON BUILDERS was calling my name! Isn't this balloon elephant too cute!!  I knew from the start that this little guy needed a string for his balloon.  Let's take a closer look. The thin silver thread was just perfect for the balloon string!  It took a couple tries to get the bow tied, but it was worth the effort! I kept the card pretty simple overall with a pretty design from the gorgeous BIRTHDAY BOUQUET paper in the background.  The elephant was stamped on Whisper White then I cut out the trunk before die cutting the rest with a circle framelit.  I had in mind that he was kind of floating in a balloon himself on the card! Peachy Keen Jellybean!

I used to love to say "Peachy Keen Jellybean" when I was younger so when I first saw the new Occasions catalog I smiled!  The Peachy Keen stamp set is right up my alley!!  I haven't had the chance to use the bundle much so I pulled it out for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge. This sketch is perfect for the Peachy Keen stamps and Gorgeous Grunge. Putting together a fun yet fast card is always a good thing!  I had this card complete in 15 minutes flat...and that's with a fussy baby hanging out next to me in his stroller! The card base is Tangerine Tango with a simple layer of Whisper White. The right side has Gorgeous Grunge stamped with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't want to over do it and make the card too busy, I wanted the greeting to stand out. Peachy Keen definitely stands out when stamped boldly in Tangerine Tango.  I must admit that up until the last week or so, I hardly ever used this color.  Now, I feel like I am using ...
