Winter Wonderland

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about Christmas!  Are you ready yet?  I'm not.......I'm still in disbelief that it's December so I am excited to see the ideas the team has for us today!

One of my favorite sets in the catalog is WONDERLAND.  I love the elegant design and that it's not just for Christmas.  For today, I combined it with the coordinating WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK to create a card and set of vellum gift tags.

I started out with the idea to use the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK for a mini treat bag to fill with tags.

The pine cone vellum is my favorite design, so I created the MINI TREAT BAG with it.  A couple of simple embellishments were just the right touch.  Sometimes less is more!

Next, I punched five different designs of vellum with the SCALLOPED TAG TOPPER PUNCH.

I tried to keep each of the tags simple and coordinated.  So in comes the SLEIGH RIDE EDGELITS and CHRISTMAS GREETINGS THINLITS.  The two work so well together and made the tags come together easily.

I think this set of tags would make a lovely gift, so I made a card to give with it.  I did another version of the BOKEH CARD from a few weeks ago.  This time I used gold accents to coordinate with the tags and added in a SNOWFLAKE ELEMENT.

For this subtle bokeh effect, I brayered Smokey Slate on Whisper White then added in Whisper White craft ink for the circles.  I used the same template I made for the first card.  Just take a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of scrap cardstock and punch different sizes of circles to use for sponging.  To blend it all in, I went over the whole piece again with the brayer.  This gives a soft and finished look.

    The bokeh on the card is so subtle - but the perfect amount! I love it... But let's talk about these tags!! I absolutely love this idea of vellum tags! I think I know what I'll do with the black and vellum sheets now! Love it!

Flashback Friday: Travel Time

Welcome to another Flashback Friday!!  Today we travel back to 2003 for the fun stamp set called Travel Time.  I thought this was an appropriate set for this week.  It is Stampin' Up!'s convention this week so a lot of demonstrators are traveling.  Here's what the set looks like. I made a CAS card (clean and simple) with this set.  I have been doing more of the clean look lately, it brings this set a more modern look. The card is very simple, Whisper White card stock and neutral inks.  Here's the details: 1.  Card base is Whisper White.  I stamped the map and suitcase in Crumb Cake .  Stamped the sentiments in Basic Gray. 2.  Stamped the card on Glossy White card stock (boy do I wish this paper was not retired) with StazOn Black ink.  Color was added with markers and blender pen.  I fussy cut the car and added it to the card with dimensionals. Party Animal

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all featuring ANIMALS. I almost used the Playful Pals Bundle, but the fun new set BALLOON BUILDERS was calling my name! Isn't this balloon elephant too cute!!  I knew from the start that this little guy needed a string for his balloon.  Let's take a closer look. The thin silver thread was just perfect for the balloon string!  It took a couple tries to get the bow tied, but it was worth the effort! I kept the card pretty simple overall with a pretty design from the gorgeous BIRTHDAY BOUQUET paper in the background.  The elephant was stamped on Whisper White then I cut out the trunk before die cutting the rest with a circle framelit.  I had in mind that he was kind of floating in a balloon himself on the card! Peachy Keen Jellybean!

I used to love to say "Peachy Keen Jellybean" when I was younger so when I first saw the new Occasions catalog I smiled!  The Peachy Keen stamp set is right up my alley!!  I haven't had the chance to use the bundle much so I pulled it out for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge. This sketch is perfect for the Peachy Keen stamps and Gorgeous Grunge. Putting together a fun yet fast card is always a good thing!  I had this card complete in 15 minutes flat...and that's with a fussy baby hanging out next to me in his stroller! The card base is Tangerine Tango with a simple layer of Whisper White. The right side has Gorgeous Grunge stamped with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't want to over do it and make the card too busy, I wanted the greeting to stand out. Peachy Keen definitely stands out when stamped boldly in Tangerine Tango.  I must admit that up until the last week or so, I hardly ever used this color.  Now, I feel like I am using ...
