Watercolor Wings for CCMC364
Today I'm going CLEAN AND SIMPLE with my favorite set WATERCOLOR WINGS.
Isn't it cool how much this looks like a monarch! But you'll never guess what colors I used, it's not what you think! The stamped portion of the butterfly is built from just two colors, Crushed Curry and Watermelon Wonder!! Isn't it crazy how those two colors produced this look! But how in the world did those colors come to mind?? Well, look no further than this week's color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!
As I looked at this color combo, I wasn't sure where to start. Then I saw Watercolor Wings (it's always sitting on my desk!) and thought a butterfly might be the way to go.
Here's how the layering process went: first layer Crushed Curry stamped off once, second layer Crushed Curry full ink, then lastly Watermelon Wonder! But the real magic happened when I added the die cut layer of Basic Black....I couldn't believe how it transformed!
With such a gorgeous butterfly, all I needed was a simple background to let it shine. A few polka dots, gold sequins and a simple sentiment made this the perfect CAS card!
OK, that's it for me today! I am working on a new video for you, I think you'll love this fun technique I'm showing with Over the Rainbow.....so stay tuned!
