Glimmer Leaves

Image
Last week I shared a card with a gold glimmer leaf that I just loved.  So, I had to do another card with the beautiful glimmer leaves. Isn't this gorgeous!  The design is simple so the leaves can take center stage.  I did one in gold glimmer paper and the second in the retired champagne glimmer paper.  Before I show you a close up of the leaves, I want to show you the sketch I used for today.  It's the challenge from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday . I turned my card from landscape to portrait and I was a little liberal with the designs in the center.  I used the two leaves and a sentiment.  In fact, this card is all about the Big Shot, I didn't do any stamping! Each leaf is popped up with dimensionals on the woodgrain embossed cardstock (Sahara Sand).  The sentiment die cut from Seasonal Frames Thinlits is done in Early Espresso to stand out from all the glimmer. Lastly, I added in a couple of sequins to complete the design.  This card was quick and easy, but still h...

FaBOOlous Sparkly Season

Image
There's a great stamp set that you may not have noticed, the hostess set called SIX SAYINGS on the last page of the Holiday Catalog.  It has six greetings that give you year round variety, so it's quite handy!  I am sharing a card today that uses a very fun sentiment for Halloween. Isn't this just too FaBOOlous!  This particular greeting is what sold me on this set, it's just so fun! I went pretty clean and simple by adding a bit of washi and a pumpkin.  My inspiration for this design came from this week's sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . The first thing I thought of when looking at the sketch was washi, so that was the basis of my card.  I went with Halloween and used the HAPPY HAUNTING designer washi. The pumpkin was created with a leftover Tangelo Twist circle die cut on my desk.  I added in the chevron design, face and stem from SPARKLY SEASONS which made the jack-o-lantern come to life.  This was such a fun card and it was quick too which I l...

Lighthearted Leaves Clips

Image
Clothespins are one of those items that are easy to find and quite useful.  They are also LOTS of fun to embellish!  Today I've got some fall leaf clips for you. Aren't these too cute!  The best part is how EASY they were to make! All you need to jazz up the clothespins is a bit of washi tape and a couple leaves.  This first clip is covered with a washi tape from the Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape set.  I covered the front of the clip overlapping on each end.  I kept the leaf simple, just stamped and die cut.  I also added a quick sentiment and a couple of magnets to the back of the clip. The second clip has washi from the Cherry on Top set as well.  But this time the leaf is heat embossed and I used color resist with Bermuda Bay ink to color the leaf before die cutting.  And same as the first, I added a sentiment and magnets. These clips can be used in sooooooo many ways!  Hang pictures or notes on your fridge, add to a gift bag, and many more!  Also a perfect way to use up...

Congrats Bear

Last week I did a fun little fall card featuring the bear from THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS .  I loved the design and a lot of people said it would be a darling baby card.  SO....today I have a baby version for you. Isn't this too cute!  I got my inspiration from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. When I saw the colors for this week, I thought it might work for a baby card... the one I was thinking about doing already! When looking at the stamps in THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS, I noticed that the stamp with a vine on the top and bottom would make a nice frame for one of the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS .  To create the frame, I masked off the sentiment. A little washi tape covering the words kept that area ink free, just make sure you peel off the washi tape before you stamp!  Here's my image once the washi was removed. And now you can see the clear image of the vine only once it's stamped. This is a great way to get more out of your stamps! Just a quick reminder, ...

Golden Thank You

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring FALL CARDS using the 2014-2016 In Colors. I focused on Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a touch of gold. I love all the colors and textures, makes this card very warm and inviting! I did a simple sentiment from Thankful Forest Friends in Tip Top Taupe which coordinates nicely with Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey. I layered in the Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a bit of texture and washi tape for interest.  The finishing (and my favorite!) touch is the gold shimmer leaf.  I usually stamp the leaves then die cut them, this is my first plain old leaf!  But in gold, it really isn't plain! Supplies: Stamps: Thankful Forest Friends Paper: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tip Tip Taupe, Gold Shimmer Inks:   Tip Top Taupe Accessories:   Leaflets Framelits, Deco Labels Framelits, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Bohemian Washi Tape, Gold Sequin Trim If you need more holiday ideas, then you should check out th...

Fall Owl

Image
Lately I've been showing you different ways to use your holiday stamps to get the most from them.  Today let's look at another way to use the HOWL-O-WEEN TREAT BUNDLE. Isn't this perfect for fall!  Changing up the colors is a great way to change the feel of your stamps.  INTO THE WOODS designer series paper added a pop of color to the neutral Soft Suede that was used for the card base and owl. FOR ALL THINGS from the main catalog provided a great sentiment and also a little background stamping behind the designer paper.  I used Mossy Meadow on Pear Pizzaz for "hello fall" to stand from the owl. And as always, I added in sequins...they always make a card better! CLICK HERE to SHOP anytime and earn FREE STAMPS! Birthday Bear

Image
Have I told you how much I love THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS ??  It's such a great set with two greetings and several cute little animals, the bear being my favorite!  So, today I thought I'd show you another way of using it and made a birthday card. Isn't this sweet!  I think this is a perfect card for someone with a fall birthday. I kept the design pretty clean.  The sentiment from COTTAGE GREETINGS fit just right between two of the vines from THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS .  I used markers to color them both in.  This was a great way to add color, but it also helped with the bottom vine that was part of the "Give Thanks" stamp.  I was able to isolate the portion I wanted. The sweet bear was stamped with Soft Suede and fussy cut so I could pop him up with dimensionals.  I also added in a bit of washi tape (from Season of Cheer Designer Washi ) and a couple gold sequins.  Turned out to be a simple yet very lovely fall birthday card! I also created cards with this wonderful...
