One in a Million

It's Friday!!  Happy Valentine's Day!  It's an extra special day for me, my final project for the Spring Collection 2014 posted today.  I would love to share it with you, but the collection is exclusive to subscribers.  Good news though....you can still subscribe to the collection and get to see all of the projects!!  More details about the collection are at Create with Connie and Mary . Now...onto today's card.  I used the same stamp set as my project for the collection, My Mother.  This is a really wonderful set, but you don't have to use it just for Mother's Day.  I used it for a Thank you card! Isn't this a fun card!  I used a little bit of this and a little bit of that to bring it to life.  It's basically a Crumb Cake card base with all sorts of fun elements.  The first thing added was stamping with Extreme Elements.  Next are three strips of Washi Tape.  I also added in the gold elastic cord from the Sale-a-bration G...

I'm Here for You

Welcome!  It's Thursday and time for an new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a color challenge:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Smokey Slate. I needed to make sympathy cards for the bookstore and these colors were a great starting point.   I decided on Petal Parade, felt they would look great with this color palette.  The card base is Smokey Slate with one of the flowers stamped in Smokey Slate.  The center panel of Whisper White has Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo flowers stamped randomly. The sides of the panel have a scallop trim in Island Indigo cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit.  To dress it up a bit, large pearls are added in between each scallop. For the sentiment, I went back and forth before finally settling on stamping directly on a flower.  I tried die cutting a Deco Label with the sentiment, but it was too busy.  The background stamping has so much going on that it just didn't flow well. ...

A Valentine Anniversary

Image
When I saw this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch,  I knew exactly what to make.  Each year I make a Valentine Anniversary card for my In Laws, it's so sweet that they chose Valentine's Day!  They have been married for 55 years...so amazing!!! I took one look at this sketch and saw a giant heart in the middle.  What do you think of my idea? The Fresh Prints Paper Pack is just PERFECT for Valentines!  I think the color combo of Real Red and Coastal Cabana is just fantastic so the polka dot paper had to be the background.  The card just made itself from there.  I continued on layering the two colors.  The card base is Real Red with a layer of Coastal Cabana.  The DSP came next, then a Coastal Cabana banner.  Look closely at the photo below to see the Washi tape that is layered on the banner.  I wanted to the arrows to be part of the card, so layering it on Coastal Cabana was a way to add it to the DSP without looking too busy. The...

Make a Wish!

Welcome!  It's Monday and time for a new sketch challenge from Technostamper.  As always Mary Jo has a fun and fabulous sketch for us! I built my card off the Fresh Prints Paper Pack, I just love the combo of Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar. Isn't this just too fun!!  As soon as I saw the three banners, I knew that "make a wish" from Perfect Pennants was the way to go. Each word was inked and stamped individually then die cut with the banner framelit from the Circle Card Thinlets.  The left end was snipped and each was matted with card stock to match the ink. The second focal point is the cupcake.  The bottom of the cupcake was stamped with Baked Brown Sugar on the matching card stock.  I used the Create a Cupcake stamp set and matching punch.  For a little splash of color, I added in a Strawberry Slush cherry for the top of the cupcake.  The last touch, and my favorite, is the gold sequin trim.  The bit of bling really finished off the ...

Eggstra Spectacular Easter

It’s so hard to believe that this is the end of Week 3 of the Spring Collection at Create with Connie and Mary.   I have really enjoyed looking at all the card creations this last week.   My card set featured Eggstra Spectacular, so I made today’s challenge card with that set as well.   First, here’s a look at the sketch. I love all the banners on the sketch, perfect for the new Banners Framelits.  For my card, I used Eggstra Spectacular and Watercolor Wonder DSP, it's been my focus for the week. This card has Calypso Coral for the card base which is embossed with Decorative Dots EF.  It's nice to have a bit of texture along with the DSP.  All three banners were cut with the new Banners Framelits and topped off with Daffodil Delight Grossgrain Ribbon. The main focal point is done like yesterday's Easter Treat.  I cut the edge off a doily to add as a ruffle under the Daffodil Delight circle.  The bunny was stamped on Whisper White and lightly out...

An Eggstra Special Treat

Image
Welcome!  Today is the debut of my card set for Week 3 of the Spring Collection at Create with Connie and Mary.  I so wish I could share it with you, but the collection is for subscribers only.  It's not too late to join in the fun, you can find out more about the collection and how to subscribe HERE . Today I am sharing a fun treat made with the same stamps I used for the card set, Eggstra Spectacular.  I am recycling a button container like the project I shared last year using Oh, Whale.   Isn't this a fun way to recycle?!  I have a drawer that is just full of empty containers waiting to be turned into a treat.  This button container on a lollipop stick is one of my favorite ideas.  For this one, I used a doily to embellish the container.  I cut the center out and only used the outer scallop edge to glue to the top. Next layer is Watercolor Wonder DSP cut with a Circle Framelit.  On top of that is the bunny stamped on Whisper White an...

You're How Old?

Welcome back!  I have a birthday card to share today for the Sketch Challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary.  First, here is a look at the sketch. I wasn't too sure about this sketch, so I brain stormed by looking at Designer Series Papers.  I ended up choosing Birthday Basics since I needed a birthday card for later in the week. I decided on the candle paper, so I chose the card base and other accents colors from there.  The card base is Bermuda Bay with a layer of Blushing Bride under the candle paper.  I put a thin strip of Blushing Bride diagonally as the sketch showed then added the main focal point. I layered Very Vanilla over Bermuda Bay then the sentiment was directly stamped on the Vanilla.  I almost stamped it to cut out and pop up, but with the banners on the left, I felt keeping it direct to paper was the way to go.  The banners are a piece of Raspberry Ripple and balloon paper.  The flowers were added in lastly to add a lit...
