A Baby Card for TSSC272

Image
Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Today we have a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  This week's sketch was great.  I took one look and formed an idea of what I wanted to do.  First let's look at the sketch. I love the banners on this sketch, they are so much fun on cards.  I used a retired DSP, mainly because I love it.  It was also perfect for the card I wanted to make.  Here it is. Don't you just love this DSP?  So cute!  I even used a color I haven't touched in forever, Perfect Plum.  Here's the details. 1.  Card base is Perfect Plum.  DSP from Nursery Necessities cut at 3 3/4" x 4 1/4".  Punched a border for the top and bottom of the DSP using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. 2.  Die cut a circle from Whisper White card stock.  I used the 3 3/16" circle from the new Circle Framelits.  It's the fourth one starting from the outside in.  Paper pi...

Obsessed with Paper Bows!

Image
Ok......I have a new obsession......PAPER BOWS!  I've had so much fun making these all weekend, they are truly addictive!  Have you seen all the fun bows made with ovals?  Well that's the bow I can't stop making.  They are easy to do and I have a ton of DSP scraps that are perfect for this project.  Here's some of the bows I've made so far. I started out making the bow on the paper clip that is on page 152 in the new catalog. I tried it out and loved it! So then I thought, what about the oval bows on a paper clip...would be super cute.  Here's the first oval punch bow using the larger sizes with the Wisteria Wonder DSP from Afternoon Picnic. This bow is pretty big for the paper clip.  I used the Large and Extra Large Oval punches.  I thought smaller might be better, so that leads to these two bows. This size bow has turned out to be my favorite.  The first one is made with Quatrefancy DSP and on a paper clip.  The proportions are better ...

Saturday Challenge: Rev Up the Fun!

Image
I have a fun card to share today that I made for the Saturday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  We are at the end of week three for the Summer Collection 2013 and the projects are just amazing!  They are also having a Saturday Challenge to go along and I was able to get a card made this week.  First let's look at the sketch we have.   What a fun sketch!  I actually altered my card to be vertical as I prefer them.  Take a look. This was such a fun card to make, Rev Up the Fun set is so easy to work with.  I kept with the sketch, just centered the focal point instead of having it off center.  Here' what I did. 1.  Picked out Crumb Cake as my card base.  Also picked out my other colors, Basic Black and Polka Dot Parade DSP. 2.  Cut the DSP and decided on what to do for the scalloped part of the sketch.  Since I am doing a masculine card, I decided against scallops and tried something new.  I took my hexagon punch and...

Flashback Friday: By Sea

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! Sorry I missed the last two weeks, been a bit busy around here!  But today I do have a new Flashback card to share so let's get going!  This week I am featuring a Definitely Decorative stamp set from the 2006 Summer Mini Catalog call By Sea.  This is such a cute set!  There were three sets featured together.  By Land, By Sea, and By Air.  All three are super cute and lots of fun to work with.  Here is the card I made with By Sea. How fun is this card?!  I used a lot of current products, here's the details: 1.  Used Crumb Cake as my card base.  Added a layer of Whisper White embossed with the Chevron EF. 2.  Added 3 banners with the Polka Dot Parade DSP.  Each banner is 1 1/4" x 5".   I used the Hexagon punch to make the banner at the bottom. 3.  I stamped the submarine with Smokey Slate.  The bubbles were made by stamping off once using Marina Mist.  A Pumpkin Pie fish was ...

Simply Sketched for CCMC260

Image
It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.   This week we have gorgeous colors to work with, check them out. Aren’t these colors beautiful together!   I love the soft Crisp Cantaloupe paired with the brighter Cameo Coral.   I felt that these colors needed a flower, so I picked the Simply Sketched hostess set to make my card with.   I really enjoyed making this card, it kind of just made itself!   Here are the details: 1     I picked Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base.   Embossed it with the new Beautifully Baroque EF. 2        Picked the flower from the stamp set as my focal point.   Colored the image with markers and stamped it on Whisper White.   Die cut the image with one of the framelits from Apothecary Accents Framelits. 3        I added paper piercing around the flower using the template for my die cut from the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. 4 ...

Fun Birthday Gift Cards

Image
Today I have two fun little birthday gift cards I made with You're My Hero.  These are perfect for tucking into a gift bag for a little boy.  The size of the cards is 3x3.  I like to do these every so often, they are quick and fun since there is less space to fill.  You're My Hero is a perfect set for this.  I love the weeeooo-weeeooo stamp, it looks great at the bottom of the cards.  Here are the cards individually. This first card has the police car colored with Markers.  I stamped it on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut it out.  The new Chevron Ribbon is too cool and looks great behind the car.  I adhered it directly to the card with SNAIL and then added the car using dimensionals. On this second card, I stamped the ambulance in Daffodil Delight instead of using markers.  I like this look too.  It's much simpler if you need to make several cards.  I set the rest of it up the same as the first with the ribbon and addi...

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  We had a wonderful cookout...indoors since it rained and rained here!  Anyway, I have a card to share today for the new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  I have been into hexagons so...more hexagons!  First a look at the sketch. As soon as I saw the squares I thought HEXAGONS!  I used a lot of DSP and little stamping.  Take a look. I haven't done many vintage cards lately so I felt it was time!  I have the beautiful new DSP Afternoon Picnic which has a nice vintage feel. Here's what I did: 1.  Picked out which DSP papers I wanted to use.  I ended up with two pieces in Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry.  2.  The card base is Coastal Cabana with the polka dot DSP layered on.  The the right side was punched with the Scallop Border punch. 3.  Next layer is Very Vanilla embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  TIP :  To keep the paper from getting over embo...
